How many older vfr riders also still ride sport bikes?

I’m having the same problem with my knees at the track. When I was much younger I thought that my reflexes would go before my body. Appears I was wrong, reflexes good, body wearing down.

I turned 60 and hope I have a few years left. I will keep my VFR 5th Gen and maybe the Buell. I am kind of done with new bikes. I have owned the bikes I wanted to own and I am content with what I have. My first sport bike was my Triumph Trophy 250 with clubman bars and total loss electrical system. I used to take it crashing around the neighborhood, playing Isle of Man, until it started to cough and then high tail it home. I pushed it a lot. It didn't have enough power to get out of its own smoke. That was a long time and many bikes ago. My knees and my right hip give me fits now.

I saw a T-shirt the said "The older I get The Faster I was." That was never me. I was never a fast rider and never did hang with the fast group. That said I never believed that motorcycles should be overweight pleasure barges. Riding is sport and foot boards are an impediment to cornering. If you want to relax take the car or let someone else drive. I said I was kind of done with obtaining new (to me) bikes but I have to admit to having a serious Jones for a Guzzi Griso.

All your life people ask “How old are you?”, getting close to being classed ”old” at 75.

I get sick and tired of being asked if I'm "retired" and being labeled as "old". WTF does "retired" mean anyway? To me, it means you do nothing and don't have long to live because of it. Just ride the bike.

I still ride 40miles each way to commute everyday. If I can afford it, I still want GSXR750. No one suspects this old Asian woman rides a motorcycle until they see me in riding gear. I'm not "OLD"!

IF you watch TV commercials, they're focused on reverse mortgages, new expensive drugs, "retirement" planning, nursing homes, home health care and other things exploiting an aging population. I get sick and tired of this shit and just change the channel. I'd rather be riding a VFR. I'll get "old" when I decide to.

Wow old thread, well now I’m 64 and still going strong.
Just wish my bike was with me while in quarantine till the end of April here in CO.
Riding is or would be great for social distancing.
Couldn’t get out of LA fast enough.
