Riding into work today east bound on the 118 in the diamond lane toolin along around 75, car to my right in the fast lane hammers there brakes, at that very moment I notice a freakin possum running across the entire freeway WITH traffic.
Luckily he was just at the two double yellow lines and missed him by I’d say less the two feet.
Who would of thunk, am I right??
    Lmao
My guardian angel was with me this morning.

What is it with these fools that brake for small animals like possums and such? If it's small enough not to do
any damage I'm going over the top of it. Of course the worst are the morons who swerve to avoid. SMH.

Agreed,no point in taking evasive action as it usually ends in tears. Most of the time it results in a near miss, at least on the freeway there is loads of space and time, unlike when they shoot out from under a hedge. Eek. :sheep::Amen::Flock:

Here’s one from a few years ago.

    Exactly, run the fooker over.
Told a friend and he said I should of aimed for the kill.

In 9th grade had a friends parents severely injured dogging a dog and hit two parked cars.
From then on I have never swerved, and in all those years, my kill is one cat in my 79 J10 Jeep

Hit a rabbit a few weeks ago when down in Yorkshire with some friends, mate following said he nearly crashed laughing at the sight of said rabbit coming from a dash to an apparent sudden stop and slide before hitting front wheel.

On my to my favorite canyon road near town, only doing about 35 and I look over to right and there was a huge buck just standing there, parallel with road. No time to count the points, just lucky he wasn’t going anywhere!

When I read the title of this thread, I immediately thought of a video I just saw for the first time this week:

Ooh ouch, that guy should have swerved.
I would not swerve and risk crashing for a small critter. Have run over a couple squirrels and at least 1 snake sunning itself on the road.
A possum is a bit bigger, you could probably still crush it. But just as well you missed it, Duccman.

Right on brudda. If it is a lonely less travelled road, I will brake for a squirrel but a freeway, hit the damned thing if that what it comes to. I hate to needlessly kill any animal but my safety and that of my fellow human beings will trump that of another species of animal. every time

Friend of mine's wife swerved for a squirrel and rolled her SUV. She still thought she did the right thing. Hell the fuck no!
