I have not had an issue with the OEM Dunlops or the second set of Dunlops. I have in the past with Dunlop but prefer Michilens. These are Bridgestone's and at 92-97 mph I get a wobble and did not go faster. I want to throw these tires away and I will if needed. But, is it an installation issue and balancing. I had my dealer install them. Is there anyone out there that has issues with the Bridgestone Battlax T30 Evos in this regard? I have about 500 miles on them and until today did not push them past 75mph. Thanks for the replies.

If you didn't do the work yourself, it's hard to say what might be causing it. You didn't clarify if it happened once, or it did it multiple times in succession, if it did it on multiple types of road surfaces, etc.

TAKE IT BACK TO WHO DID THE WORK. If ya don't wanna do that, here are a few things to think about

    1.) Check the tire pressure
    2.) Check axle pinch bolts
3.) Check the front axle nut
4.) Check the rear wheel lug nuts are tight and the chain is adjusted correctly
5.) Make sure the tires haven't been mounted on the rims backwards
6.) Tires typically have a colored dot, red or yellow on the sidewall, that should be oriented adjacent to the valve stem.
7.) Are there any wheel weights adhered to the rims, if so how many?
8.) Loosen everything up on the front end and do the alignment "pump", then re-torque everything.

I’m on my second set of T30’s, no problems at all

I would suspect tire balance which would occur a given speed (resonance), take it back to dealer as the wheel will have to come off. They can check over thoroughly then.

Have used 4 sets of them on various bikes and have never had a problem. I would suggest go and try again on a different road and see if you get same result.

If you do then it will be more than likely a tyre balance problem.

The very first thing I would do is check that everything is assembled and torqued correctly. If a wheel comes undone at 90 mph, there won't be much need to worry about the balancing.

I would have thought he would have checked that before riding away from stealer.

I've had T30 Evos on my VTR1000F for 8000km and had absolutely no issues with them, or indeed with any Bridgestones that have gone through (and I've used a few...). A wobble at such a high speed sounds unlikely for a tyre installation or balance issue, but I would certainly eyeball the rim and confirm the tyre is seated evenly on the rim.

I have the T30's on my VFR800. No wobble at 3 digit speeds. If no option to do step 8 of Norcalboys list then return to source. My gut feel is you have lost a balance weight - its come off...

Also make sure that the tire got fully beaded by checking for the reveal line around the tire next to the lip.

Thanks all, I looked at the tire and it seems fitting, I felt around for adhesive for a lost weight. I did not feel one. I wish that I was more mechanically inclined to check bolts, etc. I do not have the tools. I will take it back to the dealer after this weekend and try to strong-arm them to push it into the spring schedule which is 2 weeks out or more. The feel is more like a shimmy than a wobble like some of you have stated that it may be just a balancing issue. I get a 1/4 inch to a 1/2 inch play in the bars and head. I checked the tire for cupping but at 500+ miles I did not feel any. So Again Thanks. I just get more tools and trust myself to do my tires rather than a young starting bike tech doing tires until he gets a shot at bigger mechanics. 2 wheels do not give you alot of room for error like some have said and I agree.

Personally, if you are not mechanically inclined (& most aren't) then save your money. Just find a better shop. When it come's to dealing with bits you can't afford to get wrong then unless you have a mentor to assist you (at least in the beginning) then just buying a set of tools from Walmart will not help you.
Tyres are not that hard, I wouldn't get a dealer to do it (unless I know they are fine) as there are shops that do it all the time as their primary role.
Your time also has a value. It's biking time that will be sacrificed fixing the bike..

For sure, should be zero play.

I think I stated the issue incorrectly and also the amount of play. The bars shimmy or wobble at 93mph and above- not the head. So I think and hope it is just a balancing issue. I will check the tire pressure and start there. Again tire looks good, the head seems good and at 9,856 the bearing "Should" be good. I mean I did lose a thermostat that first year or so after buying it new. Rubber is fickle so I'm over that. I will get it shorted out on Monday and take different roads. Then back to the dealer. I am for sure not going to let this stop me from heading into Colorado in 4 weeks. Thanks for the advice all! Oh funny that my car is doing the same thing after a balance and rotation at Discount tire. I have had it done twice with no issue until now. Looks like I take the car back as well. Shit there goes a whole day with fricken tires. ;-)
