Can anyone send me a photo of this decal? I have a 2001 and it doesn’t have the decal. Photos online show something and I’m curious what it was?

The opposite side has VIN sticker.

So then it is on both sides? My vin sticker is on the left hand side.

No idea, but that sticker in your picture is what it is. It could be that they are in different places for different markets. Regulations and such. In the USA, the information sticker is designated on the left side of the machine, upper main frame spar. I also know that isn't a US model, as that color wasn't offered in the US. It is Candy Tahitian Blue, not offered in the USA.

I have a Tahitian blue. But the fender colour sticker says Italian red. Does the vin tell me what the stock colour would be?

I know the left lower side is original blue. The right lower was painted blue.

The sticker on the rear fender, under the seat, is the correct color for that machine, or the machine that fender originally came from. The VIN does not contain that information. I don't want to speculate as to the reason for the mismatched paint code and actual colors that exist on the machine today.
