Is the VFR12 supposed to come with a toolkit? Mine did not. Nobody at the dealership knew the answer, nor could they reach their Honda rep to get an answer. I'm inclined to believe it doesn't come with one, since I couldn't find any reference to it in the owners manual, but just want to confirm. Not a big deal, as I usually build my own toolkit for my bikes anyway, with something resembling real, usable tools.

    Tanks,

I am to believe it did and dipshit's are envolved. Press the issue. Honda customer service is next step. Sales people are retarted. Fact.

Nuttin' personal Bro, but I'm not totally convinced. Absolutely no mention of a toolkit in the owner's manual that I can find. But I do have a "We owe" from the dealer if the bike is supposed to have one. Hence my question. So did anybody here get a toolkit with their 1200??

I looked at the parts list for a 2010 VFR 1200 and it DOES show a tool kit.

Thank you gentlemen. I'll be calling my dealer back today. Fortunately I still have the "We owe" slip.

Yeah, after MrSleep mentioned he saw it in the parts catalog, I went to Bikebandit and sure enough, there it was. I called the dealer and the salesman told me they had just figured that out and had already ordered me one and he'd call me when it was in. So thanks again for all the replies.

I did not get a tool kit either. I asked the dealer and 30 minutes later they told me it did not come with a tool kit. The helmet lock extender (Part #1 and #2) was included. I put together my own tool kit.

I'm in the same boat as Sam Adams. ...mine came with the helmet cable in the standard blue bag, but no tools to speak of.

Actually fine with me, there's not much wrenching I'll be doing roadside; and if I'm going for distance, I carry a much more capable kit anyway.

I always build my own custom toolkit for my bikes as well, but that ain't the point. If I ever go to resell the bike, the next owner says "hey...where's the toolkit?" If it's supposed to be with the bike, it should be with the bike. At least that's how I feel about it. They've already agreed to order me one and I made them give me a "We owe" slip for it, so it's a done deal now.

Helmet Cable is what came with mine no tool kit I asked and checked the other 1200's(3 at the dealership) they had . None had Tool kits nor were they kept in back with service department. Hemlet cable in blue bag under all the seats but no tool bag... Don't matter to me most of the tool bags are crap anyway. But I do understand your concern if it was suppose to have it you want it. I would bet it's not suppose to have it. Just cuss its on the parts fiche doesn't mean its OEM sale of the bike.

If you got them to give you the we owe that is good.

Also note different Country's The UK, EU, and the rest of the world may get the tool kit but most of the US people are saying just the helmet cable and bag.

Same dealer I bought mine from had a used one and it had the toolkit with it. That's when they decided to order me one. But again, I already have a kit with real tools in it to actually carry with me on the road.

Sounds like Honda is getting pretty fucking cheap not including the tool kit from the factory! What's next, not including fluids!? "Sorry Mr. Smith, if you want to ride your brand new bike home you need to bring a gallon of oil, coolant, and brake fluid."

They're supposed to come with a basic tool kit as mentioned above....if it doesn't have one, somebody is being ripped off....usually the bike's owner. The owners manual makes reference to the tool kit, (see page 39 of your owners manual)...which should also be supplied with the bike and lives under the seat.

    Cheers,
    Smithy.

Must be different by country. No such reference in my owner's manual. Dealer still says it doesn't come with one. I asked why there's one in the parts catalog for this bike. But I must admit I'm growing a little tired of arguing with them about it. It's surely a piece of shit anyway, and I have a better one. If they say no again, I'll just tell them to fuck off and be done with it and them. I wouldn't let their service department touch my bike again anyway.

Agreed DD that the stock tool kits are usually weak. For nothing more than personal reasons, I'd make sure the dealer knows that even though they made the money on the sale of the bike, they'll never see shit from you again. And all because they wouldn't step up and do the right thing over a tool kit. Fuck them.

    Okay fellas,
I was a tad irked to find no tool kit under the saddle of my '13 ... until I came across this thread. Mine also had the helmet cable in the blue bag, But that made little sense and I was certain one was supplied but somehow grew legs and walked off, so - I took it upon myself to search for one specified for a VFR1200F. I found one on ebay Australia and $50 later I just received it - Now I don't know how it's situated under the seat. Anyone have a photo? Thank you in advance for your response. Here's mine:
