Could you give a short clue (e.g. search term) to find the post you mention on the other forum ? I hoped to find more precisely in there where the turn relay is exactly located, because my service manual is not complete (I haven't removed the right hand fairings - yet). I understand I'll have to remove the upper fairing part ? Or will removing the middle fairing part be sufficient ?

Turn Signal Relay highlighted in yellow, the connector you need to access is highlighted in green.
The bottom-right inset picture shows the locations of the Pink/Green and Pink/Blue wires looking at the connector.
I was able to pull the wires out of the back of the connector; however its much easier to clip them.
Let me know if this works.

Perfect, thank you so much ! I will be at that point in the second half of this week. I'll first try to remove the wires from the connector (as that's reversible). The hardest part will be removing the fairing, I guess, as I haven't removed the right hand part(s) of the fairing so far (whereas I did remove the left hand part(s) to install my quickshifter).

Hooray, it works ! In the meantime, this is confirmed by a short test ride, proving that the ABS, indicators, and hazard lights are still working properly. I don't know about the TCS (and it's rather tricky to try to trigger it), but given that the ABS works, "by deduction", I have good confidence that the TCS is still working too. So I am rid of the SELF- cancelling indicators, it's ME again in control of MY indicators ;)

Thanks to the electrical scheme(s), AND thanks to SlideRule pointing me to the location of the turn signal relay in his previous post in this thread, I could verify for myself that the scheme matched the (expected colour of the) wires of the turn signal relay, and also matched with what SlideRule had mentioned. Not feeling too comfortable about tweaking the complete connector (I was afraid of damaging it, in the end), I just cut the 2 wires. I considered that having to resolder the 2 wires (should something have be brought back to original) was less trouble, after all, than having to change a complete connector. (being confident enough that it would work, I hadn't refered to my dealer).

For anyone considering the same operation, still a warning : based on the electrical scheme, I see that the other (non-cut) ends of these 2 wires are connected to the ECU. So these 2 wires MUST remain insulated from each other, because otherwise for sure the TCS AND the ABS will NOT work any longer due to lack of correct wheel sensor inputs...

I also made a (photograph- based) youtube video of what I did step-by-step, so that it can be of use for people wanting to do the same. Actually, the biggest part of the work is the removal of the (lower & middle) cowls : cutting the wires isn't all that much work (verifying if these are the correct ones, on the contrary, IS)... (and BTW, SlideRule, you - and the forum - are credited :) )

Well, since they are under your control now, you'll be the one people will wonder about when they
follow you for a couple miles while you have your left turn signal on. :)

Exactly. And if it occurs to me twice in a row, I'll consult a neurologist to check if I'm not demented, which is a showstopper to ride bikes anyway ;)

Nah, not demented, just forgetful, or distracted by other things. Stuff happens.

Funny isn't it how we see these things. I reckon the self cancelling indicators are awesome, in my mind works a treat, but hey if it works for you all good. Biggest hassle is when I jump on a bike that doesn't have this feature is remembering to turn the indicators off....

    I fully agree :) Because ...
... for me, on the contrary, the biggest hassle was to make sure again and again that my indicators were still on at the crossroads (I must be indicating direction rather early, I guess)...
