I think you will be pretty happy with how it all works Tommy. Sync. with my phone was simple, and is very reliable. Even if I don't use it for weeks, it always connects when powered on. If you have the helmet on, it actually tells you it connected. I even found a small audio amplifier I could add to the whole setup, if I want my speakers to be louder at speed. So far, the unit has met my needs.

I'm interested in a review on the China unit also. The eBay review I read said it wasn't very good for listening to music which I do a lot of on trips.

I have a pretty good handle on the functionality. I realized speaker placement was poor and I've adjusted. I'm going to be trying out the adjustments. While riding I moved my helmet to make a proper ear to speaker alignment and I was very surprised at the improvement. Thus the reason for adjustment.
I promise to write up something complete. So far so good! Thanks for the interest.

I have the Cardo Scala G9. Talk on the phone, listen to music/radio, GPS instructions and the wife (oh shit).
Something that no one has mentioned. More than anything is to get custom made ear plugs with built in speakers. Look after your hearing, it is comfortable as you don,t have bulky speakers or ear buds that dig in and they block out the wind/road noise.

Agreed, after riding with it twice now, I know I will need the ear plugs. The stock speakers are not loud at all and I always ride with ear plugs.

The Chinese units have that standard connector. They would work great with custom ear buds and mic.

HERE IS THE REVIEW I WROTE FOR AMAZON

I've owned multiple helmet communication systems that are more expensive and one system that is 7-times more expensive so the comparison takes this in consideration. I had an extra helmet so my purchase motivation was an inexpensive system that would just keep me connected and stream music. I had another person that I follow on a motorcycle forum (DAHOSE) that purchased it so I had a reference point. Available was the E8+ (latest model) and the E6+. The 8 has bigger control buttons which is super nice but the microphone system was hard wired plus only gave you a boom mic not to mention it was twice the price of the E6+. Also, it mounted lower on the helmet edge so it would not sit flush. So I opted for the E6+.

Upon "super quick" arrival, I noticed it was boxed professionally. The battery was charged but I brought it to full, which is through mini usb. So the instructions are overall well written but there was a snag, which I will cover later. It comes with 2 different types of mounting to the helmet. One is the double stick tape type or the clip type. I chose the clip type. It allows the helmet to sit flush when set down which is nice.

    I tested the system before fully mounting the control module, routing speakers and mounting the microphone. The module connected to my iPhone 8 immediately and all module buttons worked as described. THEN I tried to pair the remote and ran into some issues. THEY WERE RESOLVED but did give some frustration. I contacted the company with a video showing that it was in paring mode but would not pair. To this day I have not heard from the company. I contacted my blog/forum friend (DAHOSE) who looked at his instructions and realized he had written himself a note. Here is what he said;

"To pair the remote, you use the "E" button, but you have to hold it longer. If you hold it down after the red/blue flashing, the light will go solid blue. That is when you push power on the remote, then hold down two buttons. It should pair right away."

After performing this sequence the remote paired right away and has worked perfectly ever since. The remote control is a game changer. I have ridden many long distance rides which result in long mileage days so “feeling” for controls is just not that fun. The remote works flawlessly. It starts, forwards and pauses music on my Spotify app. You must pause/stop the music app to make a call as it uses the same button. The remote's volume controls work great. ONE ISSUE I HAVE WITH FUNCTION is that if an incoming call is not cancelled it will automatically answer it. I do not like this feature and am looking for the ability to change it.

    UPDATE FROM SELLER (3-01-19) :)
    Hello
    Thank you for your support
We are sorry about the instruction problem with the pairing of remote,
we will respond to our factory and urge them to correct the instruction soon.
About the second question, our intercom cannot cancel the AUTO ANSWER FEATURE,
    how about this,
you try to close the auto answer from the cellphone setting,
I hope it will work for this issue
    Best regard

Back to the installation: Installation was quick and easy. The speakers are quick connected so you can upgrade if you like. The mic is also quick connected so you can interchange for a mounted mic on the inside of the chin area or a boom mic for a 3/4 or modular helmet. My Shoei was a full coverage so I mounted it directly across from my mouth. It comes with very strong glue in strips for the mic & speakers. I have talked on my more expensive unit and the same people tell me this mic is the clearest and cleanest that I have used. The speakers are adequate and I can surely live with them.

I have recommended this unit to a couple of friends who are also satisfied with its function. I gave it 4 stars for the problem with instructions and non-reply from the main company. The selling company did reply but was a very poor response considering I sent a full video outlining my issue.

OVERALL, THIS UNIT ABSOLUTELY CANNOT BE BEAT FOR THE PRICE AND FUNCTION.

That's a pretty solid review, and I am in agreement with pretty much all of it.

Thanks for the review. I'll recc the unit to some friends who are unwilling to buy the more expensive units. I might even consider these for my trail rides with friends. We tried the handheld radio method with helmet sets with mics but didn't get too far with those.

I would think that if you have mobile service then you would be able to use the comm unit. Would love to hear your results.
