Hitting those frostie bumps by Summit Lake are so amazingly fun! Hit them at an angle when you go up on your moto!
Every time when in Colorado, I go up that mountain. Next time on foot I'll climb the peak and ridge between. :)

You gotta take me fishing!!!! I started setting trout lines when in preschool until 7 years old. Up in the dark to canoe the disgusting river to go check the lines. The most thrilling and scary. Anyhoo...so different than this kind of fishing, but it's when I got my hook in it teeheehee

I'm always here but like you have said not much posting on this forum because I think "rides and trips" "8th gen" and "What did you do to your VFR today are the most popular sites for me. I wish more localized postings from the western states where posted here no matter the content of generation of bike and so forth. I will keep coming back now that there is some re-newed interest.

It isn't just this forum or your location. VFR's and VFR riders have shrunk in numbers drastically since, say, the mid 2000's. Part generational thing and partly the bike isn't sold in the USA any longer. There used to be an annual ride in the Southeast Smoky Mtns. that drew 60 riders for years. Now maybe a dozen. The original "regulars" have gotten "old" in body and priorities as well. Just my observation. I was part of that group but still rode a quick 200 miles in those mountains yesterday afternoon. Just my observation.

I just rode a little over 1200 miles this past weekend: went to Sturgis to see what all the hubbub was about. 2 things I observed:

    1. not NEAR as many naked people walking around as I thought there would be.
    2. WAY too many people on harleys that do NOT know how to ride their motorcycle.

Because of those 2 things, I won't go back.

Just a quick note to say I'm in Colorado for several months. I have a couple of 96 VFR's . I just got the second one this past week. Colorado is a great place to buy a bike, very low milage compared to California. Looking to ride during the warm spells. Located in Golden area.

Completely agree about Denver/Colorado Springs/Boulder/Longmont/Fort Collins being an amazing place to buy motorcycles. I've purchased 2 low-miles 5th Gen VFRs here in the last three years (one of them, a 2001 model, only had 11,250 miles on it).

Just give this sub-forum a hit when you want to ride and I'll do my best to show up (although I travel for a living, usually about 1/2 of each month).
