Never say never! I had said I would never crash, but I ended that dream fairly recently. But the Hinda held up and was driven probably 1000 miles after that, and is still ridable. And when I am more able and anxiously awaiting some better weather to ride, even if it is for just an errand.

Are you saying you’ve never hit the deck in 48 years and never will? Hmm! Good luck on that, as I think you are overdue to join the club. Let me guess your Vfr750 has outriggers on the rear.

Yeah, seriously. You can't keep a car from getting you and you can't say a mechanical failure might not take you down.

I had an accident a few years ago. A car was coming to a stop and I was turning left in front of him. Just before he got to the stop sign he gunned it and plowed right into me.

Never is one of those words, that doesn't really work. Having been a Motorcycle Instructor for a few years, a good crash is one you walk away from. The amount of concentration required to ride a motorcycle safely is large and there are so many things that can go wrong, that you have no control over.

So if you've made it this far without a crash, there's no guarantee that good fortune will continue.

LOL!, it's too easy, not even a challenge. When it gets to the point where the other person starts calling you names like a child, it's like having a battle of wits with an unarmed person. Like the saying goes, never debate an idiot. You win.

I'm 63 1/2. But I will still ride mine when I get old. Or a new one.

Reading this thread is comforting, I'm 44 and just got back into motorcycles and am getting tired of the "aren't you too old to be riding a motorcycle?" comments. My usual response is "age is a state of mind" but I think I'll just show them this thread from now on...

52, bought my first Honda NightHawk 550 when I was 16. Bought a 1991 VFR New in 1993 (still have it). Just bought an 8th Gen, can't wait to compare the 3rd Gen with the 8th Gen.

As a Canadian, maybe you can use this: "Some guy calling himself 'Riding a 2000' is a whole two-four older than me, and he still cranks open the throttle on a VFR! So STFU/Get a life! Hoser."

Anyone who would say this has NEVER ridden a VFR... I would just smile at them and laugh as I walked away.

Honestly that isn't too unusual. No outriggers on mine, and it's been 56 years without crashing on a street bike. I have fallen
over at a stop, but not on a moving street bike. I've crashed a few times on dirt bikes, but if you don't crash there you're not
    really having enough fun. :)

OTOH I would not say I'll never have a wreck. It could happen fer shure. It just hasn't happened...yet.
