I remember my experience with my racing on the I of M. I had it wrapped up and was heading towards the finish line hot as hell. Suddenly there was some sort of pop and the bike started shuddering and shaking like hell and over the bars I went. Just as I was hitting the ground at God only knows how fast, I woke up. Whew!

Love the landscape and I would love to ride in Ireland. But that last Photo is one I fear! It is a nightmare of mine when knowing I am going out for good! Stopping on a road that I should end it all! Rather than a hospital, then just riding as fast as the bike will take me back into the pond we came from! P.S. I hate the Ocean as much as I hate Plastic!;-) But, with my luck there would be a school buss on a cross road before taking the dive off a pier and having to stop and go back. Then getting a phone call from my dad telling me that 20 ft. at 100mph won't do it. It will only put me into that hospital broken, shattered, but not gone and pissed that they have to pay the bill!;-) Then my mother would get on the phone! Holy shit no one wants that! ;-) I will stick to canyons not ocean view rides! ;-)

Ahh Bubba, nothing to worry about that last pic, it’s very deceptive and the road is long way from the sea !!

    Andy - Was it you?

BBC TV news this morning had a very cute video of several riders clearing a group of ducks for the TT course - with the bend now renamed "quackers corner".

Penciling in the Isle Of Man for 2019. There's talk of Ohio State bringing their electric bike back in 2019. Would like to be there!

So after getting 2019 IOM on my calendar, what would you recommend for a first timer from the States? Planning on making a bit of a trip to Ireland, maybe more, but would have race week on the itinerary, although do not think the wife would be happy staying for the entire schedule. So just wondering what a good compromise is considering room availability, ferries, air transport, etc. (we've celebrated too many anniversaries to be camping and she's just about ended two up riding). Suggestions appreciated here or email. Thanks.

Sorry for late reply GOVFR, you may have things sorted already, but if not....

You may struggle to get flights/ferry and accommodation that would cover the full week but make sure you get either the first race day or the last race day.

Douglas would have the biggest selection of hotels and B&B’s, there’s also a scheme called Homestay where locals rent out their spare rooms and some rent out their house/apartment whilst they go on holiday during TT !

Let me know if you need any more info
