LOVE this bike but boy are the downpipes, centre stand and foot pegs UGLY.

I'm thinking of just taking the headers off and using a satin black exhaust paint to tidy them up a little but I feel that will only take a year or 2 to wear away and will continually need re doing. Either that or get them ceramic coated but not sure of the cost of that at my local yet.

Foot pegs I will eventually get powder coated to match the rear pegs and wheels so that's not so much of an issue really but still crappy to look at in the mean time.

As for the centre stand. Well I don't really want to remove it. Its handy to have. Maybe just a can of satin black will help tidy it up a little?
Although I have a single swing arm stand as well and I only really use the centre stand at home for chain cleaning so I might be better off shaving some weight and tidying the underneath up a little by removing the centre stand and just using my single side stand instead.

Second photo attached as I cant walk away on a negative note regarding this awesome bike LOL

    Cheers guys.

That machine is definitely worthy of a nice Cerakote on the header and some sebspeed adapters and adjustable rear sets. I never liked the center stand either, took mine off (6g, not 5g), but there is a group that will tell you not to do it for convenience reasons. It all comes down to personal preference

The research I have done on the Delkevic system and from feedback I have red I'm not keen on it.
    Although does look nice.

I think just a black ceramic coat or a descent job on some HT Exhaust paint will get the job done nicely.
Not looking for the headers to stand out as such by getting them done in polished ceramic but rather a black will hide them away nicely.

I think Ill remove the centre stand.
As mentioned only gets used at home when cleaning chain and I have a single swing arm stand anyway so why not save a few kg and tidy the looks up a little at the same time. Now ill have an ugly bump stop at the bottom of my exhaust not being used (cant win) lol

Cerakote comes in most colors you would want on an exhaust, including black. you might want to take a look.

On second gen VFRs headers were stainless steel and never get as bad as yours. Another example of Honda going to lower quality over the years. :toiletclaw:

Doesn't take much cleaning to make these shine.

I did all three of the above mentioned, took the stock headers off my 01 and put on cat-less 98-99 ceramic coated headers, as well as took off the center stand and installed a set of SebSpeeds 929/5 Gen adapters on. Because I'm a glutton for punishment, I kept the stock linked braking system intact and made my own adapter and heat shield to support the new setup. The 929 Rearsets are an eBay find and the coating of the headers was done by a Specialized Coatings in Huntington Beach.

I'm thinking just getting the standard rear sets powder coated to match the passenger pegs but will change the peg to a lower style beg. Need that little bit of extra leg room haha.

Will definitely take the headers off and get them coated or at minimum give VHT paint a go.

    Centre stand. Still undecided haha.
