what tool is best-designed for removing these connectors from the plug ?

obviously i managed, but it was a struggle.

recently converted an '86 VFR to run with Yamaha Radian r/r, seems OK.

I have a small unfolded cotter pin that I jam in there with a pair of needle nose pliers. Works great. It's one of several weird but useful bits I keep stuck to a big magnet in the garage (that way it never gets lost). I've rewired two motorcycles with custom looms for do-it-yourself fuel injection projects.

OK, that works, but what's the Proper Tool, not an improvised make-do.

Jewellers screwdriver flat blade if you have one , or alternately the linked tools.

Secret is to push the connector forward so the tang isn’t resting on the plastic housing. Then push down on tang.
