Has anyone here tried putting the 6th gen stator and flywheel kit in a 5th gen? I have 49,000 miles on my 5th gen. The stator just decided to go last week right before a trip. I had no option other than to get an electrosport stator since I needed it right away. The electrosport stator was defective and my bike only charged at 13.8 volts with it. I left for my trip from NY anyway hoping it would work until I got home. But, I am now stuck in Iowa. The voltage slowly dropped as I was going west and it is barely holding above 13 volts now. I have already done the Yamaha regulator and had another one to wap in and it is not that. All the connections are good and I have an extra ground installed. I am an auto mechanic for a living so I a, pretty sure about my tests. If I have to get a Honda stator shipped here, I would like to go to the upgraded gen 6 stator since it appears to put out 150 more watts. So, has anyone ever done this? I can't risk being the guinnea pig since I am stuck here...

Put a gen 5 on a 6, had a spare when it went bad and it was all the same as far as I could tell. There is an early and late version of the gen 6 stator and rotor and the two do not mix and match so you will need the rotor as well if you go with the late version. The gen 5 and early gen 6 was a little smaller and that is why the rotor has to be changed.

Toecutter, do you happen to know which year the 6th gen stator got bigger? I’m thinking to upgrade my 5th gen and want to get the right parts.

In all likelihood it could be the 2006+ models as this is when other changes were made to the 6 Gen as well. That being said, if you go to partzilla.com or other Honda OEM reseller, you could see what years share the same part number.
