Just wondering if anybody else has had a problem with extreme heat on the right side heel guard. The heel guard on my 3rd gen has gotten hot enough to give me a blister on my heel through leather boots. Any suggestions on how to remedy this would be greatly appreciated. I know it's the exhaust side, but I don't think it should get THAT hot.

try heat wrap on the section of exhaust pipes nearest the foot and reflective silver tape on the back of the heat guard.

Any chance the exhaust is leaking somwhere? Red hot exhaust gas would warm things up real quick..

That's kinda what I was thinking. I'm mainly interested in seeing if this is more of an isolated incident or if this is pretty common with the 3rd gen. I know most aftermarket rearsets have the heel guard skeletonized which probably helps a lot, too bad they are basically nonexistent for my bike

I don't hear any exhaust leaks or see anything that would make me think there is one but it's definitely worth a closer look.
