I have just finished working on my new to me VFR . When I try to start it, it turns over fine. It will not run, upon further investigation it is blowing the 30 amp fuse above the battery. When I attempted to replace the fuse, it blows it as soon as it touches the fuse holder .Any ideas on what to check? Thanks in advance .

Also, when I turn the ignition on, I do not hear the fuel pump start like normal.

So I checked my terminals. All looks good . What I did discover though is that when I unplugged the black wire going to the regulator(black/white) wire, it doesn't blow . But as soon as I try to plug it in, it blows .

These are the wires in question .It's 2 green, 2 red with white, and one black . Can anyone tell me where they go to? They are coming from the R/R.

So I have solved the issue. The biggest issue was that I am new to honda bikes and especially the vfr800. So my issue was that I was missing almost every relay and regulator that goes under the front fairings. The previous owner had street fightered the bike and messed with the wiring harness. When I bought the bike I replaced the front harness section and didn't plug in all the needed regulators and relays. Now that all are plugged in and set, it runs like a dream . Glad I didn't start throwing money at parts......other than a $30 regulator.

a $30 regulator huh? Good luck with that. Look up"the Drill" if you need to troubleshoot electrical maladies with your VFR.
