Hello, My name is Jack I live in Central Utah. I would like to buy a 2001 VFR next year and wanted to gather some information from owners, instead of from motojounalists. This way I can confirm that I am purchasing the right bike for the right reasons, and I hope to get the information from people who have lived with the bike for a period of time. I look forward to talking with all you VFR enthusiasts. Thank you for inviting me to participate! Jack
I have had mine for less than 2 yrs and put on over 17000 miles to bring total mileage over 50000. Bike runs great, sounds great, handles good, incredibly reliable, not a cookie cutter bike, ages well (almost 10 yrs old). Biggest complain is probably the lack of aftermarket support. It's out there, but just not in the abundance of the cookie cutter bikes. If you want a very sporty bike that you can ride all day, I think it's a great choice...
Welcome aboard. There is tons of information on this website that will be very helpful. There is about a 50-50 split on which is the best generation, 5th or 6th. Basically, you can't go wrong on either one. Just attach a Radio Shack 12v fan to the Regulator/Rectifier and life will be good.
Are you not even looking at a VTEC model because I LOVE my 07 25th more than any of the other 5 bikes I have had in the last 20+ years of riding! Just something to consider.
welcome, i have a 97 750 so thats not much help as for as an 01 goes. but i have only had my bike for a couple months and i love it. its a great bike for the money in my opinion. however i have to agree with others that aftermarket parts are not plentiful like cbr or mainstream bike like that. that is why i like my bike so much , its not like all the other bikes thatare on the road, and the exhaust note is so much bettre than the i-4's. hope that helps
