G’day VFRW, I just bought myself an excellent condition ‘99 VFR800 and thought I’d join this forum. I had been riding my Rvf400 for some time, and although I love that bike (still got her) it is somewhat limited....no tank range and a piece of cardboard for a seat haha. Although it can slice up the twisties nicely. It got me thinking of what comfy, sporty bike I might like. Seeing as I’m a Honda fan and I wanted to keep it that way, I started looking for a Viffer. It didn’t take long to find an excellent condition ‘99 in red. My kinda colour. So I spoke to the gent on the phone, it was a bike I could tell he looked after and he seemed to be quite the Honda fan himself. Only problem was I didn’t quite have the coin. Not to worry, this man didn’t want to sell it to just anybody and wasn’t in a rush, so he held onto it whilst I gathered the remaining funds. I couldn’t believe my luck. Once I had transferred the remaining money he sent it to me via road train. Oh yeah, I hadn’t even seen the bike in person. (A risk I was willing to take). But I can tell you it didn’t disappoint! After 2 weeks of watching the clock I went and picked her up. And my oh my, it was better than I thought. A low km, unmolested beauty. It has a couple of tasteful goodies, the best is the exhaust, but also Helibars, a touring screen and Ventura rack. I plan to spice it up a tad, but nothing dramatic. Just some braided lines, a PC3 and a dyno tune. That’s a while off for now. Until then I’m just going to ride the hell outta her and listen to that V4 howl!
Very nice, clean. Yep, braided lines are a great addition to a 19 year old bike. It will transform the braking. I was very pleased with the improvement on my '99. And a change to HH brake pads at the rear, well front too.

Great find! And Welcome to The World! I put HEL SS clutch and brake lines on both my 01 and 09 VFRs. Good mod IMO.
Welcome to the VFRWorld madhouse. Wow - with a mighty pretty VFR & an RVF in your garage - that is a great pairing. It certainly looks like the VFR is in amazing condition for an 18 year old bike and has been well looked after by the previous owner. Take care and have fun. SkiMad
