    Hey everyone,
My fifth gen has a tail light mod that turns the rear turn signals into running lights / turn signals. I want to do this to my fourth gen and I wanted to ask here if anyone knows how to do this or knows if there are links in past threads. I didn't know if this was a common thing, or if the guy I bought my fifth gen from was just really creative. Lol

    Hey squirrelman,
Your turn signals are also running lights?
My 97's turn signals are just turn signals. What is it supposed to be from factory?

    Hey, wait !!

bright idea: check your bulbs cuz you might have dual-filiments with blown wires, so no running lights, right ? seems likely 2 me unless we're dealing with USA, Canadian, euro model differences.

Mine are definitely single filament bulbs and sockets.
From what I remember, I'm thinking the guy I bought my 5th gen from said he changed the turn signal sockets from single to dual filament. I think anyway. 20180601_212236.jpg 20180601_212247.jpg 20180601_212258.jpg

Here's some pics with the keys turned on. The 2000 lights up all three lenses across the back. Definitely dual filimant sockets, they have three wires instead on two. The 97 just lights the middle lens and not the yellow turn signals.
Do all fifth gen bikes have the turn signals as running lights? I'm freaking out here!!! 20180601_214701.jpg 20180601_214522.jpg 20180601_214427.jpg

That top picture on my last post is on the fifth gen bike. I wanted to show the back of the socket so maybe someone can tell if it's supposed to look like that, or has it been changed.

THE FIFTH GEN HAS BEEN CHANGED!!! I just dug a little deeper and found butt connectors and splices! I wonder if he wired in front turn signal sockets?

Right on! I'm going to try to find front signal sockets and see if I can wire them up.

Got some used front turn signals and wired them in. Came out perfect. It cost me like 80 bucks to do that on my old Harley. Lol 20180608_154712.jpg
