Update: Now that I have the PC V installed, it has fixed the majority of the abrupt throttle response. Now you hear the transition to VTEC, but you don't feel it. It's certainly not abrupt, and you don't have to worry about crossing the transition while healed over in a corner. I've got the Arrow slip-on with the DB killer installed. good combo.

Looks like you have just discovered what a lot of 6th gen owners have been saying for the last 15 years lol.

Yeah....not just discovered. I had a 2004 with a PC III and Scorpion exhaust. The horror stories of VTEC never seem to die out. It's not a problem, or at least it's one that can be corrected. I had more issues with my 09 FZ1's fueling and off/on throttle response than either VFR in stock trim.

Maybe it's just the bikes, but I find my gen 6 handles better than my gen 5. I'm ambivalent about vtec.

Have absolutely no complaints of my 02 with a PCV, flapper and snorkel mods with Leo’s. I actually love the kick of the vtec.
But then again I love and live for the kick from my supercharged Lighting

If more people could get ambivalent about VTEC by learning how to ride with it, they might enjoy their VFR more and quite criticizing it. It's called not adapting to the bike and the false belief that there is actually a perfect bike out there. Fantasy.

Riding the VTEC is like a 2 stroke hitting the pipe, revs like one too

All I can say is that on the 8th gen with an Arrow slip on, PCV, and the Dynojet map to match, you hear the transition into VTEC rather than feel it. I didn't think it was bad before, but now I don't think about it at all.
