Thanks - I still have a 'few' jobs to do to get it that final 5%.

Remove back tyre & place onto another wheel (its freshly powdercoated)

Refresh rear brake - have the bits.

clean & paint gear shift - I forgot it !!

re-vinyl pillion seat - replace seat cover - maybe do it - haven't decided yet.

Recover the screen with vinyl - the wrap was poorly put on & I know it drive me mad.

    Re-bleed front brake.

    Lube chain,

Change clutch lever over for adjustable - front brake is already done.

Then I might start on the Rothmans Version...

A couple of notes on this 'restore'. - LOL

A clean bike is easier to take apart - get it really clean first!

Decide what the aim is first. If you clean / restore one part it has the effect of making all the other parts look bad.

Try & do all of your dismantling at the same time, - use boxes WITH LIDS to put parts into & label them.
I have spent hours looking for minor parts - washers, nuts, rubbers, special bolts"!" basically because I disembled this 8 months ago & forgot where every single item is.

Pick a vehicle that has a factory service manual.

If a part is broken / damaged - then get the replacement or do the repair NOW - don't wait until you reassemble to get the part fixed / replaced.

    When Painting:

Try to paint all of the same colour / type parts at the same time - its harder than it sounds & space after painting is the real issue.

You will spend lots of time masking & taping then MOUNTING the kit. You have to be a little inventive in this.

I found using plastic was far quicker than paper for masking large areas..

USE LOW TACK TAPE - have plenty in different sizes - I used a few rolls & you don't want to have to 'fudge it' just because you ran out of tape !

    Thanks guys . .

The last few tasks are now almost complete.

I finally gave up on bleeding the front brakes & instead took the lot apart for the 3rd time - LOL

The calipers were then reassembled - easy - no issues, also changed the front lines to a lovely pair of NEW stainless hoses..

Then got to the MASTER CYLINDER...

I'd rebuild it with a o ring around the wrong way !!!!! - dumb !

Fairly obvious once I looked at it for more than about 2 seconds - lol

So hopefully I'll bleed them tonight on my test rig then move back onto the bike once thats done.

for the sake of appearance and cooling you need to get a small knife blade or similar tool and straighten the bent fins on the oil cooler. takes time and a steady hand but big improvements are possible. it's the worst-looking piece on the bike !@

It's not, you haven't seen the chain yet -

Yep agreed, however, I'm more concerned with getting it to a rideable state first but will look at that.
The front brakes are now back on & almost work, I also repainted the calipers not my finest job but will work for now.

The next jobs on the list are: bleed the front brakes, replace the rear pads, change the rear fluid, clean & oil the chain.
