Having watched several videos of 6TH Gens with Delkevic, Two Brothers, GPR and the like exhausts and slip-ons, I believe that the Two Brothers slip on or system sounds sweet! Now, aside from the lack of gear whine, does the TBR system or slip-on sound like that because of the single can? Most of the double can offerings sampled on YouTube sound similar with the exception being Staintune systems. As a caveat, who knows the recording conditions of either video and the impact on the quality of the sound.

I guess the TBR sounds more or less like a 5TH without the gear whine though a little agricultural all the same. Is it the single can making that bliss or just video technique or lack of using a good mic and gain structure on the other videos?

It does sound similar, he must have a cat free header. He needs to replace his cam chain tensioner.

    Useless
Don’t understand why these people don’t give it some heavy handed revs
Let’s hear it if that’s your purpose of making it

Thanks for the reply about the timing chain tensioner(s). I opened a thread with the same video and posed the question regarding that slapping noise as lose cam chain tension.

I am beginning to believe that the single largish is the way to go as far as ultimate sound though not aesthetically or symmetrically.

    Again thanks.

It's a shame that there aren't any single, left exit, exhausts for the 6g....but the ugly gaping hole that would be created under the seat might not be worth it to some.

The 6th Gen was NEVER meant to heave a single sided exiting exhaust. I've seen it done and it looks absolutely horrible.

If the tail fairing was filled in, I think it would look good.

Hence the "dummy" can that you get with the 2Bros kit. Keeping the symmetry with the unused can I think makes a difference.

Lol, they actually made a model called the ‘Stash Can’, came with a keyed lock too. The model I have is a sealed unit.

Thanks guys for the opinions. What I was really getting at besides aesthetics was, "Does the single large can of the 5TH Gens minus the cam whine attribute for the symphony over the 6TH gen bikes?" I do own a 99 and an 04. Thanks.

I initially liked the 6g "dual" (wink) exhaust,.. im not big on it now,.. because to go away from it to single leaves the bike looking horrid,.. as its desiged to be two cans under seat,..

I would like to have a nice clean single side Yoshimura or similar older school exhaust,.. but mine is gutted,.. thats as good as it will get.

It sounds alright,.. good enough to leave it alone,.. im not big on the hokey fake dual setup at all though,.. just a very unnecessarily complicated exhaust adding weight to an already borderline heavy bike.

Love the bike though!,.. not hating..

The only thing that I wish that was kept on the 8th gen would be an under seat exhaust for aesthetics for that gorgeous rear wheel. But I will live with the center of gravity benefit.

Had my bike for 15 years and put the Delkevic cans on, very easy swap, and sounds great for such an inexpensive setup(inserts removed)plus it keeps that twin pipe look I like about the 6gen. Made a small stainless bracket that connects the lower portions of the seat back fairing pulling the bottom in better fitting the contour of the smaller cans, before was big space around can that looked like off. But love the sound, reading the forum I think I understand removing the snorkel is not that detrimental, so may try that for purely the sound effect, been too quiet too long!

Remove the PAIR valves while you're at it. They cause a lot of popping on decel, especially with gutted / aftermarket cans and exhaust.

I like the Delkevic the best for looks and sound. I put that one on my first VFR800 and this time am going carbon fiber. I will send the content of my new one later. For now, here is the stainless with baffles in.
