Thank you for your help, don't know if i have the courage to do it but Thanks!

If it is only every 10 ooo kms or so then i could get it adjusted during spring tune up time or oil changes etc

    Sorry but..

Some of you guys worry me - if you are nervous about tensioning the chain, on what is without a doubt the simplest bike on which to do this basic maintenance, then I'd be real happy to own a bike shop near you...

    It's ONE bolt fer fuxache..

Shayne, you shouldn't be worried about adjusting the chain. I know I was the first time, but it proved so easy; much easier than on my son's GPX250 (what a pain to get that right). The hardest part was loosening the tensioning bolt (whatever you call it) that had been overtightened by a mechanic. Oh ... and after purchasing the C Spanner (was missing from the tool kit) it was even easier. Just don't overtighten it - needs a little slack. If you can find someone who knows about bike chains, get them to check it when you've finished. But, ... definitely learn to do it yourself.
    Cheers

The simplicity of VFR chain adjustment is one of the many great things about the bike. It's never out of alignment. It requires 2 tools and about 2 minutes. I like to take a quick look at the chain after every ride. When it needs a little tweak, do it quick and it'll be ready for next time!

I am new to having a VFR and this is by far the easiest chain adjustment process I have ever seen. This is a definate do it yourself.
