Just sedans are getting axed ... but adding five all-new SUVs?!

Think this leaves room a new Ford Moto to fit in one Teeheehee

That's why this is so hilariously farfetched: Ford making anything moto-related

Does this mean I can be driving my car, get stuck in freeway traffic, and then move to the bike and lane split to my destination? Can't see that leaving my now driverless car parked in a lane will upset anyone...

Yeah apparently their trucks and SUVs are hugely profitable so I can't really blame them. I'm glad to see they're at least saving the Mustang. Even though I own their arch rival Camaro vert right now I've had 3 Mustang verts in my life and I would like to get another one before I kick the bucket :D

I've solved the problem - the mothership car/SUV is autonomous - so while you use your bike to lane split the rest of the way to your destination the mothership keeps going and eventually catches up and parks itself :D

I quit reading after the first 2 sentences. Couldn't take the overt sexism of this reporter. Only dads would like this, only dads like James Bond films, sheesh. And this from one educated at UC Davis and living in SF. :D.

I'm so SUV'd out I could puke. We have a Fusion and other than it being kinda slow, I love the car. Corners great for a big car and it's comfy for long trips. Highway mileage in the 30's for the base 2.5L four cylinder engine. I think it's a stupid move and Ibet it won't last.

I agree, but if I posted the link from FoxNews where I saw this the first time people wouldn't read it for the reasons it's from Fox. Same with CNN. Or any other news source. I could say I came up with the info, but who believes a Podunk from Kansas with no sources?

But bottom line, Ford has this patent and it's hilarious!

All true enough (well, maybe not in reference to a 'Podunk from KS'). I believe Janis Joplin, prior to singing Mercedes Benz, stated:
“I’d like to do a song of great social and political import,”
That song, of course, was relatively unimportant, although I think it's a catchy tune. In the case of my post:
I’d like to make a joke of negligible social and political import ...
    And so it was ...

I take it you have never driven in Japan, rofl. In the U.S., they call them "hazard" lights, in Japan, they are facetiously referred to as, "parking" lights...It really isn't uncommon for someone to just stop in the lane closest to the business they wish to enter, turn on their "parking" lights, park the car right there, and go in the business to shop.
