    Hi all,

    // VFR800 99
    Yesterday I was trying to adjust my idle speed but to my horror I discovered that the adjust bolt and the whole thingy which holds it is missing.
    Does anybody know of alternative way to do this?

    Thanks!

    The idle adjuster screw pushes in on the start valve lifter plate; the screw is just a plain steel screw with a spring and bushing to keep it from vibrating loose ($6.75 on Partzilla). Are you saying that you are missing the starter valve lifter plate as well? If so, I think you will need to get a used set off eBay, as that looks to be unavailable new.

    No.2 pulls on the starter valves to allow air to pass for starting and the idle adjuster screw pulls on this plate a little for idle speed. If your plate is missing you will not get the valves synced or the idle speed correct. Has it come loose and fallen down ? EBay is your friend here a scabby set of throttle bodies can be had quite cheaply

    It should look like this but yours has broken off. Im afraid you need another throttle body assembly

    Much easier to see when you don't have a motorcycle wrapped around it.

    A bit " out of the box " but a good fix.
    Get those starter valves synched if not already done and its a job done
