Motad went out of business last year so sadly there will be no new systems.

Until someone actually installs them on an 8th gen and does a before and after dyno test all anyone can do is speculate (which is fun) about the potential power gains or lack thereof. Hopefully Delkevic will provide information to us in that regard. But even if the power gains turn out to be minimal, the drop in weight, reduced heat, and better exhaust sound might still make it worth it to some folks.

Edit: FWIW, I just found this dyno chart on Delkevic's website comparing a stock 6th gen to a 6th gen equipped with their full system (including their headers along with their dual mini carbon mufflers). It shows a peak gain of 4.61 hp. As far as I can tell they don't have a dyno showing gains attributable to just the mini carbon mufflers when used on the 6th gen so there's no way of knowing how much extra power (if any) is derived from just the headers on the 6th gen. They do have a dyno chart showing that the 8th gen gains 2.96 hp from their mini carbon muffler alone, so if we subtract 2.96 from 4.61 we get 1.65 hp. I'm mixing apples and oranges here obviously but it looks as though the headers alone might provide a bit more power on top of what their mini carbon muffler adds.

I'll do it in the next couple months. Gotta set money aside. Divorce is a hell of a money drain.

If you time it right you don't need a burial plot, just keep a can of gas and a match handy.

Delkivic has said many times that they do not make performance headers nor do they have interest in making them. They tell everyone is clear words, "Oem replacement", but people still buy them by the droves. That graph looks at worst, suspiciously un-6th gen like and at best, pre and post tune.

I can agree that the cat heat reduction, sound and weight could be worth it to some buyers, but I am still convinced that the awful delkivic collector design will do more harm than good. Too many people get the idea that the vfr800 catalytic converter is some sort of big restriction, when it really isn't. The power difference between the 1998/1999 and the 2000/2001 vfr800 is negligible and most/some of that could be attributed to the primary piping inner diameter change (31mm versus 29mm).

The catalytic converter really isn't a bottle neck on the vfr800, the primary piping inner diameter, merge design, primary length consistency, secondary, collector etc are the real factors. This is highly evident when looking at Mohawk's Motad header vs Two brother's header dyno chart, as both are catless, but the motad has 31mm in dia primaries vs two bro's 35mm in dia primaries (as well as the better overall design of a true performance header vs a cheap catless oem header copy).

This is my big problem with Delkivic. Look at the collector. No way you can tell me with a straight face that this was made with any attention paid to flow whatsoever.

This is why I prefaced my posting of Delkevic's dyno chart above with "FWIW". I'm obviously not a mechanic and can't vouch for the voracity of their claims nor have intelligent discussions about things like flow rates and pipe diameters with you :D If you have a dyno chart that shows the before and after results of Delk's full system on a VFR (especially an 8th gen), please post it up - I'd love to see it.

I have no idea how hungry Delkavic are either. Perhaps you meant "Veracity?"

From now on I will charge you for proofreading your posts. :)

With my luck I would not blow up and would just burn to death slowly. I see your love here!;-) You want me to die by fire! You really don't like Taff's.:) but again I am more English than Welsh. :)

Plus my families religious views do not condone cremation. I will throw It out to them, but I think that all of them and I would just like to see me going into 80mph sweeper and then going into a 30 degree turn that I miss with a 90 degree 1000ft drop. Plus the accidental insurance would cover it. When I go that would be perfect. ;-) They could just visit the site with nothing much left of me to bury!:)
