I'm probably gonna head out tomorrow. Got an email from a central coast rider who is planning on a ride to Pacific Grove tomorrow for lunch so I thought I might catch them for the return trip. Pacifc Grove isn't far from here right?

For years, Nor-Cal was my stomping grounds and I would ride those routes with and with-out riding pals. So much bliss riding those routes. I most likely will return to that area for a vaction next year or when I retire from the AF.

Those pics you posted Rock!! I am suprise you were able to get so many. Everytime I go on epic ride where I bring a camera, I never seem to use it because I am too eager to see what is around the next turn.

2 hours south (roughly), if he means Pacific Grove/Monterey. 880 South out of Oakland, it becomes 17 as it hits Santa Cruz, and then Hwy 1 all the way around the bay, past Laguna Seca to the Monterey peninsula.

Although that's a lot of boring hwy riding in the bay area. Take the 92 bridge over the bay, and over the peninsula, and drop down Hwy 1 from Half Moon Bay for a much prettier (and swoopy) ride.

Cortech, I think I paid $53.00 off the net, the tail bag you see expands, that trip was the first time I ever used that feature. It hardly ever leaves the bike...

Well, after 5 days around 1700 miles, and thousands of curves, I rolled in to my place around 11 am... I have a couple pictures and some notes. I'll try to type up something about the trip before too long...

    Day 1 & 2

Rambo? No it's Reg arriving in Yreka. Almost didn't get this shot because I was laughing so hard.

Break time in Bigfoot Country on Hwy 96

You like high speed sweepers, Hwy 96 is the place to be

Beginning of Hwy 36, almost looks like your riding in to heaven

Moto GP VFR's? Reg actually put a hole in his pants from dragging his knee

Got lost off Hwy 36 on one of those Destination Highway roads and ran into this fellow, you wouldn't know it to look at him but he owned his own business and had a $75,000 Hummer for his hunting rig

The spot and after effects on Scratch on one of those Destination Highways mountain roads, can't really see it but there was good sized patch of gravel on that corner

Ben's 2CT tire after a couple of days of railing the Busa

Hwy 299 & Hwy 3 were amazing! Did this day solo and thought I wouldn't like riding alone, but riding these roads were almost spiritual with no traffic and nothing but twisty's

This road trip will be a yearly trip for me, This is one of the few trips that actually lived up to expectations if you enjoy twisty's, Reg is every thing I expected and a whole lot of fun even though he's full of 50 psi anal acoustics :israel: And what a great VFR story with new VFR owner OSOFAST "Ben" He rides my 99 for 20 minutes and decides right then and there he must have one, within 12 hours after getting home he buy's one off Craigslist 900 miles away and flies the next day to go pick it up. My only hope is next year we might get a few more VFR owner's together and do these amazing roads again...

(this is a joke, so skip ahead if nozzle humor is not your thing)

Dude with the camper tells OSOFAST and Reg that he's having a big party later and they're invited. He warns them there'll be drinkin' but that was alright with our VFR buddies. Dude warms them there might be swearin' and fightin' as sometimes the parties get wild - they are O.K. with this too as they can hold their own. Dude says sometimes there's even sex at his parties...now the boys are excited, Dude asks if they wanna stick around? Reg says yeah, when's the party start. Dude says whenever you want, its just us that's gonna be partyin'

Now you know why RW's taking the pictures from way back. then rode alone for a few days.
