Couple of Central coast riders "Reg71 & SLOVFR" and myself "RW" along with a couple more PNWriders are embarking on one of those road trips for the ages. Were leaving Wednesday morning and meeting in Yreka Ca. on 9/19/2007

The area were invading is Hwy 1/3/36/96/299 in N. California, that area is considered the holy grail of twisty riding with miles and miles of roads that you never see more than a quarter mile of straight, a true sportbike paradise if you ask me.

So stay tuned for pictures and video within the next week and here is just a sample of what awaits...

I did that trip - I wanna do it again. We rented VFR's from SF and headed North and cut east. Twisties out the wahzoo! Big fun. I burned up a Dunlop 207 in 1900 miles. (oops)

    Have a good ride!

Hello. Reg and Rick here. We are leaving Yreka in the next few minutes heading west on 96 towards the coast then S to Willow Creek. We should be Willow creek around lunch time if anyone out there wants to try and jump in.

Been there, done that, wanted to buy the t-shirt. It was a hell of a trip that I wish I could do over and over. I would like to go back one day on my RVF after I get the suspension finished (1 1/2 weeks..)

another good trip is going through Lassen volcanic national park. Fun and beautiful up there....
    Good riding guys

Still riding... We are in Red Bluff today trying to decide which way we're all headed. I'm probably going south and will end up in the bay area this afternoon. I'll recheck this thread when I get there to see if anyone wants to jump in for part of my ride back home. On a side note, I washed out in some pea gravel and rescraped the same spots that I haven't repaired yet... oh well, guess that's what I get for going inside to avoid pine needles. at least I didn;t fix the side before this trip!

Since you're in Oakland, try this route (if it dries out any time soon):

    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=...22.114582&spn=0.262643,0.490265&t=h&z=11&om=1

The following would be a great ride through the Scruz Mtns, taking you to Alice's at Hwy 84 and Hwy 35 (the other Skyline Blvd), then dropping down to the coast via 84 and pescadero, definitely stop by Duartes in Pescadero for some amazing food. Then Hwy 1 down the coast to Davenport, and a hop back up into the mountains on Boony Doon Road, coming back down Empire Grade (amazing views of the ocean from up there). Then into Scruz, where the route hops through downtown, and then out to Hwy 17 to get you headed back north.

I live in Boulder Creek, kinda in the middle of all of that, but they repaved hwy 9 from hwy 236 in to boulder creek, and it's slick'r'n'snot right now (got the 350z sideways with a touch of throttle). Not recommended for bikes unless you're going SLOW, and mind the hairpins... anyway, I've ridden most of below, and it's just beautiful roads down here. :) If it was dry, I'd come meet you someplace on Sunday, but I'm too novice for these roads in the wet.

    Saturday 675 mile day

Started the day on 299 and then went north on Hwy 3, by the time I ended up snapping pics and taking it all in it was 3:00 pm and I was just rolling in to Yreka

At about 3:30 I decided I was just going ride till I got tired, but thanks to the Sargent seat as well as the VFR's egro's I rolled up my driveway around midnight
