As the title suggests, are the valve cover gaskets for the 5th and 6th gens the same?

I know the part numbers are different, differing in the MGB versus MCW for the 5th and 6th gens respectively.

Thanks. There just happens to be a great deal on the top end set for 5th gens that looks appealing for the future and now.

    Again thanks.

My feeling is that they will be different in size and shape. The 6 Gen has the VTEC valves and no gear driven cams, so the shape is likely to be a little different.

Had to edit; forgot valve cover GASKETS. Thanks again. My thinking is that they might be compatible. Anyone have any definitive proof? So long as the mating surfaces have the same profile, the other shape of the head covers makes no difference. Maybe just wishful thinking.

You can check other model parts compatibility through sites like Partzilla; in this case the cam cover gasket is specific to the 5G 98-01 only. My gut says OOTV is correct.
