Just went looking for a spare 5G Honda stator, and they are marked as no longer available.
    What do we do now?

The 98-99 is still available, but not the 00/01 which is different.
Here they want AU$300 for a rewind.
Cheaper new from the US, if you can get one.

A place in Alabama called ‘Custom Rewind’. Several members over at VFRD have gone to them and had made the recommendation.

My recollection is that it was $100, with return shipping included. You can also ask for different lead lengths and whether you want bare ends or OEM connector. I had my 6 Gen rewound but have not sent my 5 Gen back as of yet.

    What model 5G?
Can you take a picture if its a 98/99?
Not sure what the difference is, but I think the 6G is the same as the 00/01.

Funny thing is, when I called the rewinder here he stated that if it was a Ricks stator, he wouldn't even rewind it.
AU$300 is a bit much, and he has a 2 to 3 week turn around, I'm going to WSBK at Phillip Island in a couple of weeks, so I won't get it back in time.

It’s from my 01. Not sure when I can get to it, but I can do a side by side with my 09 Stator.

Still haven’t had a chance to do the comparison but should be able later today. I’m on a job site that I had to leave earlier than normal, so may work day ends sooner today.

Sorry for the delay but I can tell you they are different in size.

Although the ID is very close to the same and the bolt pattern appears to be the same, the other measurements are different.
ID: 5G: 41.94mm, 6G :41.99 mm (although this just could be the "inexpensive" caliper I using.)
OD: 5G 107.78mm, 6G 115.51mm (this time not the caliper IMO, the 6G has a bigger circumference)
Both have 18 coils, however, the coils are slightly different in size.
5G 18.58mm tall; 13.34mm wide; 34.86mm deep (as measured from front to back as if mounted)
6G 21.03mm tall; 15.24mm wide; 32.86mm deep (as measured from front to back as if mounted)

I am pretty sure the gen 6 stator AND rotor will fit from the 06 and up but it will require both parts.
