Currently 8% humidity at night. Tomorrow will warm up, dry up and a lot of places burn up. I'm listening to the live feed from the fire department. More fires getting reported about every twenty minutes.

    Pray for us.

    From the National Weather Service

.A strong surface high over the Great Basin will bring an
extended period of moderate to strong Santa Ana winds to
Southwest California through Friday. Winds are expected to weaken
slightly tonight and Wednesday then increase again Wednesday
night and Thursday and continue through Friday. During the
stronger periods damaging wind gusts of 60 to 80 mph will be
likely across the mountains, and damaging gusts up to 60 mph will
be possible across wind prone portions of the valleys in western
Los Angeles and eastern Ventura Counties.

I used to live in Glendale near Burbank and the Zoo. Know that area well. It breaks my heart to see how quickly these are spreading. We just went through it up here. Get your important papers snd whatever you need to survive set aside and hope you don’t have to evacuate.

Ever notice how so many high fire danger areas have super expensive housing around here?
Just as well I can't afford Bel Aire or Malibu. :cigar:

Not so, many mobile home parks hit, homes are very densely packed together. All roads between Venture county and Santa Barbara are closed, no way to get through, it is affecting everyone!

True. I feel worse for the regular and low rent folks than the megabucks types.
Those guys can just go to one of their other homes.
    The regular folks suffer.

I know when we eventually move I'll be looking at fire and other risks for wherever we go.

I would pack up and go to a hotel in Long Beach or another neighboring community that is far enough away that the fire is not an issue. The situation is just too volatile to get any sleep.

    Fuck me ....

We are in recovery mode, and will be for years. I cannot believe that image of 405 at the Getty. I drove that every day for 3 years. That area is South (AFTER) densely packed residential areas where we lived (Reseda). Jesus Christ man, really bad is a gross understatement.

If you are in an area near any of those bad fires, pack up your important papers, and remember that your computers probably have digital versions of your most important stuff. Plan how you will quickly get out, and have go-bags ready. We have learned our lesson up here in No. Cal. You need to be ready to leave within minutes of making the decision. DO NOT wait to plan, until you are alerted it's coming. You may not have time to think, just act. Everyone down there please stay safe

Rain + No Vegetation = Mud Slides, so I'd be careful on what you wish for. I can see a light rain or at least a constant drizzle, but nothing too big.
