canister from 1999 model on a 1991

Not sure if this is the right sub-forum to ask this

Would a canister from 99 fit on a 1991 ?


if not only the 1990-94 are fitting on my old lady ?

If so, no, it won't fit.


You are looking from 1990-1993.

1994-1997 mufflers are different birds.

If you can get a COMPLETE header system with muffler from a 1994-1997, it can be fitted to the '90-'93 bikes, but you will lose your centerstand.

You will also rid youself of the huge collector box under your '91.

But it has to be the complete system, the mufflers alone will not interchange.

Another slight twist:

If you can get '94-'97 OEM headers alone, with no muffler, you can then use any aftermarket slipon muffler originally intended for a '94-'97.

Again, your centerstand will have to be jettisoned.

 

I've looked at my bike and my centerstand is gone with the wind
and i don't see any place where it could be... how do i know that my canister/head is from 1991 ?

i hope is form 94-97 if it is it will be easier to find aftermarket slip-ons
