Ive purchased these carbs for my 1983 VF750 interceptor. I was going to replace the jets during the carb cleaning they need. They were supposed to be from a 1983 interceptor also. Im not sure how to decode the casting number in them. If I am correct, I think they are 52A carbs, but the service manual does not list 52a, only b, c and d. Does anyone know what I've got and what jet sizes belong in it? Thanks! Sorry about the upside down pic, can't figure out how to flip it!

One way of telling which carbs are which is to measure the bore, then consult a chart.

Maybe this will help clear things up. They are absolutely for the honda v4. I just cannot determine if they are for an '83 or '84. The main jets are different for 83 and 84. I just don't know how to decipher the stamping on the carbs. I am confused if they are 52a or 52b The square around the "b" is making me wonder if this makes it a VD52b? The main jets in the carbs already do not have any numbers stamped on them. I am assuming dynojet or something like that.

Those numbers won't help much as the don't relate to any Honda-specific or model-specific parts.

My idea is that you needn't fret over '83 or '84 anyway as the carbs are identical except for jetting, so put in what ever jets match your year.

Just looked at my spare set off an 83 and they are 52A. Numbers are on body of carbs, just above where the bowls fit.

Now that I see the picture, I am not sure if they not Bs with the rectangle around the B!
