If you click on the pics to make them bigger you will see what I'm talking about. I would never use a auto jack on a $50K rare collectible bike, I don't care if I was in Thailand or not! Next is the amount of corrosion that no piece of carbon fiber fairing will ever be able to hide. They are a decent shop, making things no one else does, but this is killing me

If it were my bike, I would eat dirt and use the money I saved to make a proper garage with environmental control.

    But then again it's not mine:frown: ......

At first I thought this was a "if it ain't a pitbull stand it's crap" thread but.....

OMG! This is akin to seeing a toddler near the edge of a cliff or something. Although I also use the same floor jack method, I have tie down straps suspended from the roof as insurance. I hope the owner didn't see it like this.

    Pipes look GREAT btw.

I think there was about 300 made?
Saw one for sale on EBay a couple of years ago. 0 miles. It was still in the crate, person had bought it, cut the front off the crate and replaced it with glass as a show piece....
would love to have one of those, but I don't see it happening...

isn't that worse though? that the bike wasn't theirs? All the more reason to show the utmost care. If it is yours, to a certain extent, I don't care what you do with it, but when you are in possession of someone else's expensive toy???

Apparently, according to the bottom of that page, there are 322 NR750s.

If Thailand flogged that kid back in the '90s for cursing in public or some such thing, they should shoot the ass who used a car jack on that bike.

From what I know about that country, it's really messed up morally.

I do not see the problem with using a hydraulic jack like that. Note that it is a hydraulic jack, not a "car jack". Even if it lost pressure the bike would not fall off, it would simply lower down as it pivots on the rear stand. If the oil pan is anything like other v4 Hondas, it is flat as well, further stabilizing it. I do not see the corrosion that is mentioned either.

That bike is worth over 50,000 dollars. Since I have yet to see one for sale here in the US, I can't say how much it really is. You show appreciation for the things you have, and treat them right. But from the statements above, I gather you like your haircut from a flow-bee... :brick:

Flame thrower has been lit, bring it.:fencing: :argue: :mad2:  :flame:

Your bike isn't super rare, super expensive;) I have done it in the past, and probably do it the future, but not to a iconic legend of Honda prowress. Besides, you center stand is holding up more weight then that Jack is.....

I just stumbled on this thread. Oh dear! Thought I better set the record straight. The bike on the jack is not ours and is taken from a Japanese website ( I forget which one) for comparison purposes. If you look carefully, the registration plate is not Thai but Japanese style, though I admit that it is not clear to see this detail. It is the only evidence I have.

I used the picture because it was the only one I could find at the time showing an NR without bodywork and the stock pipes. So, Your Honor, we are not guilty:wink:
BTW, the bike we used for the exhaust is my personal one and it gets regular use (i've done around 1000 miles ) but lives in my living room. Some of you would probably think I don't treat it well enough. The girlfriend thinks I lavish a lot more love, atttention and money on it than her. Maybe you are all correct

Hello and welcome by the way. You can throw up an intro thread if you want.

They look good naked dont they?

By the way my bike is sitting in the garage on a jack while the front forks are off having Racetech stuff put in them. But, officer, I also have it tethered firmly from above to a nice strong garage rafter.with a nice new ratchet strap. Safety first, even if it is not an NR.....heeheee
