    SOLD

I have decided to sell my VFR...it is now posted in the classified section...

This is the description of the bike. I have documented may of these mods on this site over the years so a simple search of my name will show lots of pics and narratives.

    For Sale
1998 Honda VFR, 26K miles, Excellent Condition, Second owner. $3900

I have owned this motorcycle for 6 very enjoyable years. The bike is in excellent condition. Never down, paint and plastic are in excellent condition with no scratches or road rash. The engine runs flawlessly with oil changes every riding season. I have the full maintenance history from the previous owner. Both the original owner and myself are considered mature owners (50+ years old). Bike still has original tool kit and owner’s manual under seat.

The bike has several typical VFR modifications that are listed below. All modifications are improvements to rider comfort, handling and reliability.
    • Voltage Regulator Upgrade with Shindengen Mosfet FH020AA & LED Charging System Indicator
    • Delinked Brakes with new EBC Double H-Sintered Brake Pads, Spiegler Stainless Steel Brake Lines and Machined Fender Brackets by Mello Dude
    • GPR High Mounted Stainless Steel Exhaust with Jet-Hot Thermal Coated stock header pipes.
    • Rear Shock from CBR929 with adjustable dampening.
    • Corbin Leather Seat with Removable Backrest.
    • Heli Bars (PN HB01004)
    • Hepco and Becker Rear Rack with TC-40 38-liter Top Case
    • Euro Spec Headlight Switches – allows for headlight switch positions for; off, park, on and adds the flash to pass feature as found on the European market VFRs.
    • New 45 tooth rear sprocket (vice original 43 tooth)
    • Aluminum Chain Guard from Thurn Motorsports, Germany
    • GPS Stem Mount and Wiring from Techmount GEN4

The following items are included with the sale:
    • Dowco Motorcycle Cover, Grey

Sadly these bikes don't get the recognition or resale they deserve. Not what you want to hear but $3000 - $3500 is about the max you'll get for a nice VFR. I'm thinking about selling my yellow '00 and I'm having a hard time with the same pricing realization :(

Are you hanging up the helmet or changing rides?

Thanks for the reply. I am not sure if hanging up the helmet for good or just taking a breather. I have been riding continuously since I was about 9. I don't have a specific bike in the cross hairs, so may just wait and see where the mood takes me...

Sounds like a nice bike and not high mileage, but I think he is right. :(

You could probably get more money out of it by selling some of the aftermarket things separately.
    More work, but......

Yes - do a search under my username, mikerob97, and you will find a 5 Part write up on brake delink project as well as many of the other mods I have done to the bike.

I bought my 2001 Yellow VFR with 12.8k on odometer back in OCT 2016 for $2750.
It came with aftermarket Delvic shorty exhaust, nearly new tires, chain, both sprockets and a cellphone mount/holder with power cord.
    I don't even own a smartphone.

I can testify that this is the cleanest VFR I've seen. The care Mike takes make me pretty sad when I look at mine (especially the chain)

    I haven't been going lately.

I've just been enjoying riding the R1200s too much.

I purchased and installed DMr fork kit and 929 rear. Went to take it out and heard the front caliper was dragging. I've got the rebuild parts, and even bled the system, but haven't gotten any further.

Good luck. I know I would pay that much for YOUR bike if I was in the market.

Hey all, resurrecting this thread because I bought this VFR from the guy Mike sold it to. It is still kicking and is a blast to ride.

Currently in the middle of a fluids/tires refresh for spring and have a handful of long weekends planned for this summer.

Might even try to get to WDGAH if the stars align.
