Hey Everyone, I'm new here and I just purchased my first VFR yesterday and I'm in absolute awe of this bike. Honestly the best bike I've ever owned. Any one have any tips or tricks or recommendations for this bike? [IMG][IMG]

Yeah...gas it up, point it towards some curves, and twist the wrist!

Hahahah. That's the intention, but I have to break it in first. How would you guys go about breaking it in properly. I plan on doing the first oil change at about 400km on it before my big trip.

Almost 20,000 miles of pure canyon carving and still going strong with mine.

I rode mine like I stole it right off the lot. Got the first oil change done at 600 miles. And then every 4k after that for the next 20k miles. Still runs perfect and doesn't burn or otherwise consume any oil.

Perfect. I've only ever heard good things about this bike. And I'm 6'7" and I fit perfectly on it. Is there anything you'd recommend doing to it accessory wise.

Use pure synthetic oil after your breakin. Good for 8000 miles (per service manual). Learn to slip your fairings off on, learn where the interlocking clips are. When removing the hex button head bolts, keep track of where they go, 3 different sizes. Patience getting plastic fastners out, push center pins out from backside, then pull out. Oil filter little tight getting in and out, you will have undo lower radiator mounts and pull back to clear headers. Have fun.

    Tip: Ride it!
Recommendation: Google to find some roads to ride it on.

New pipe and the quick shifter were my first upgrades. Plenty of pipe options out there. Many threads on that subject.

Welcome and great pics - beautiful bike! Looks just like mine :D Is that the Saamis Teepee? As far as accessories I'd highly recommend the fender eliminator / tail tidy made by NZCam - see this thread for pics and info: https://vfrworld.com/threads/8th-gen-tail-tidy.47985/page-6

Also, did you happen to post a question on my YT channel about a week ago on my nightride video? Someone posted they were 6'7" and wanted to know if they would fit on the 8th gen. Glad to hear it fits you well!

My thing is I don't want it to be insanly loud. I love two brothers. I had that on my old 500f and I'll probably go that route. What do you have on it?

LOL - glad you enjoyed it! I see you're interested in the two brothers - here's a vid I made below where you can see and hear VFRDave's two brothers at about the 3:30 mark - it sounds really good in person.

Welcome to the tribe! Thanks to GatorGreg for the Tail-Tidy (Fender Eliminator) recommendation - if you're OCD about the look of the tail of the bike like us, you'll definitely be happy with it and there are only 9 (soon to be 8, right Alan?) left.

A Slip-on pipe will also increase your happiness with the bike, improving both the look and the note of the exhaust. I went the Two Brothers Racing S1R choice, and never looked black, err I mean back! (I have a black VFR, and it just looks like it was meant to be there!) A windscreen upgrade is also a popular choice, particularly for taller riders. I'm 6'2", and I find the PowerBronze double-bubble screen directs the wind-flow perfectly for me, plus it gives you a great choice of colour options. On a white bike, might I suggest either the dark screen or the metallic-ice blue? I've seen pictures of both on the forums (VFRD/VFRW) and they look fantastic.

Started out with a Delkevic, now have a DAM. The Delks are really affordable and well made. They're pretty quiet with the baffle in (depending on the model of the pipe). But I like the look of the DAM, so I went with that one.

I can vouch for NZCam's tail tidy. I got one from his very first batch!

Tips: Replace the OEM Dunlops as soon as possible. This will transform the handling. Keep yours locked up better than I did. lol.
