Well, not so much as what I did to my VFR today ... but what the hell ... my girlfriend is getting more and more into my riding. Super awesome!

She's now stolen my Honda hat - looks like I have her hooked now. Next thing you know, we'll be getting her her very own bike next. LOL!

Just installed my new grips. Then I ordered a zero gravity windshield from 4wheelonline.

Caned the fuck out of it going up the Fosseway ...had a bite to eat then did it in reverse, carefully remembering where the speed cameras were

As it goes, I've Been sorta on the chain gang thinking, in that I believe I may have found that this may be the new way to me of doing the lube down. Other than you need to take the secondary chain debris guard off, it makes for a good way of getting the chain nice and slippery ;)

Talk about total BS, changing out the bulbs in a 5th gen shouldn't be this difficult $#@! at Honda. Got it, finally thanks to a trick stick, but Holly Christ, talk about such a simple thing to do, yet..........

Well maybe not so tricky, but ok. Got a stick just the right length, not to short, nor long to get up in there with the right slots to be able to move the clip where it needed to go. That spring clip is a bugger, that and hard on the finger tips, but this little dude got it done. ;)

Been tending to moto here and there since I returned from the long ride, but not much riding because of sweltering heat.

Pretty much spring service, washins, lots of sittins and starins and touchins and huggins in between, checking on moto every day.

Then went out for an evening stroll Saturday night. Checked moto yesterday and came to grips with the fact that the tires were really really shot.

So much rubber wore off the center on the short ~60 mile ride. I wouldn't make it much out of Doodah again.

I am not complaining about this PR4 rear...it performed amazingly! LOVE the PR4 rears! My last PR4 rear got just under 13k miles. This one about 9.4k miles. BUT...it went from Calgary to Denali, Alaska, all the way back to Kansas...on crazy rough roads way up there and in states. So I'm very pleased at its performance.

Not so pleased with the front. This is my 2nd PR4 front (this one mistakenly ordered when I had requested a PP3 front). But what do I do? Needed a front on so I could go. Wasn't going to create a long delay for a different tire when I knew the front would make it okay.

Plus I thought hmmm, this will be interesting to see if this one does the same thing as my other PR4 front (that I swore would be my last) Yeppers. It did.

Now...the tire was never below 34 psi each time I checked it. Most times it was right at 36 and didn't need any air. I don't do any of the hard braking like some say can contribute to this wear. I've never had this issue that I recall with any other front tire before.

I'm not sure what the heck is going on with PR4 fronts on my VFR, but it appears directly related to all that siping and tread pattern. And no fun flopping into turns with this combined with the extremely squared off rear.

I have been wanting to try Angel GT A-specs next, but I'm going out of town Friday. I didn't want to risk ordering tires and them not showing up in time.

So down to Cycle Gear I went yesterday to get this deal:

And up early this morning to ROK strap them to moto for new shoe day!

Just the cheerins I needed today!

Even though these aren't the tires I had in mind, the price was great and I did enjoy the T30 EVOs I had tried (though longevity was a lot less than the Michelins). So I'm super excited to give these a go!

    Main thing:

Moto and I won't be stuck wasting time trying to get new shoes on the road. That would not be fun.

Now...if only the new rad cap and fluid flush has fixed the cooling system issue I had on the way back from the long ride. I'll find out this weekend...

The PR series seems to have a real issue with scalloping ... even the PR2's did this for me. One of the reasons I've sworn off the PR-series tires for a front tire.

My T30 EVO GTs are still on from last year, got amazing life span out of the GT ... though the rear is now past the the wear markers finally. I need to order a new rear. The front is still good though, and the siping hasn't caused scalloping or odd wear patterns.

A friend uses the Angel GT's and likes them.

Funny about the cooling issue - mine the past few weeks hasn't seemed like it's been cooling as well as it should normally. My next post explains what I've done ... it's gotten better, but I'm not sure I'm still 100% happy with it.

Already changed the fan temp switch. Bike still seemed like it was running hotter than normal.

Did a chemical flush of the rad and put new coolant in, and I also changed the thermostat. It was hot AF out yesterday when I did it, with temperatures hitting 31*C (39*C with the humidex) ... I couldn't find my canopy to work under. :(

Anyways, it seems to be running better now. Rode it into work this morning and seems better. We'll see over the next few days I guess. I may add another fan like Marrib did.

I noticed that after the 2000ish highway miles I put on my interrupted trip to Montana and back, that my T30 EVO front is squared off some. I guess I need to spend more time in the canyons to round then out again.

I was able to spend a day in them yesterday, but damn cars and all. It's like they are public roads or something. I'm really needing to do a track day or four. Get my speed fix in.

Side mounted radiators I think ... if the system isn't kept tip-top, I think it's more susceptible to heating up.

I haven't overheated, but I always keep a close eye on my gauges, especially in this extreme heat.

Well typical me, can never seem to post the stuff that happens the day it happens. Then again when you're busy getting systems ready for a client move in, personal time is very limited. That out of the way, was at the job site on Thursday and everything is normal, then I walk pasted a guy spoke to in passing says to me "Hey, your the motorcycle guy right?", "Yep, what's up?" "Some dude just backed into your motorcycle and they're looking for you!"

"WTF!? Are you serious?, "Yep, it's laying on its side out there in the parking lot"

Well, low and behold, when I get to where I parked it, this is what I was greeted with. Needless to say that my language was a bit colorful but I quickly calmed down as I was at work and needed to be professional. Adding insult to injury though, when my bike fell, it hit the car next me. Total damage to my bike, left side panels scratched up pretty bad, MRA windscreen totaled, right side mirror busted at the pivot and cracked the GIVI top case. It was actually dislodged from the bike when I got there.

Long story short, insurance claim filed, they'll be collecting from the guys company insurance as he was in his work truck.
