Marv just installed one on his ZX7R and found no difficulty... the
only problem is finding which p/n has the right cable length for a
VFR... you might want to measure the stock cables and seek the
    manufacture for guidance...

According to my info, there were 45 into US, of which several of those there were CA models. 5 went to Canada...... but I have to defer to Larry as the Guru. If you got a RC45 in any kind of good shape for $18K, you got a steal! Recent English RC45s are running about $27-30K US. Several other European ones went for that range in US $$. One recent RC45 w/ about 60 miles recently went in the $45K range if the deal went thru as listed on Ebay. I probably paid a little too much for mine, but I think based on the research I did, I got a fair deal. My RC30 I got fairly cheap, but the rebuild & stuff is costing a fortune! Bike was fair condition but needed significant body repairs, so I got NOS OEM stuff & am pending rehab of body out in CA.

Hiya Leland... unlike the RC30 the RC45 was never Ca legal... fortunately for
us no one discovered the error at the DMV...

According to Honda's ID guide... RC30 VINs have two serial number ones... a
49 State and a Ca Model...

    49 State JH2RC30***LM20001
    Ca Model JH2RC30***LM20001

RC45 VINs are all 49 State... I just can not explain why 1 thru 5 ended up in Canada...

    JH2RC45**RM000001 to 000005 Canadian
    JH2RC45**RM000006 to 000056 USA

So Larry, I defer...seems I was told somewhere or some how (& I thought I had documented it...but can't find it...) about the CA model. Anyway, does putting 3500 miles since April classify me as an "Exotic Rider???? Now if I can just get an NR750 to ride too....and an VF1000R, and a CB1100R, and a..... Now I want a Yamaha OWO1 and OWO2 <grin> gotta run my own comparison tests!
