Hi! I found a used police unit in one of my local listings and had a look at it.
The bike would definitely need some work, I was just wondering how much of a headache it would be to fix

For starters, the bike is a police model, initially it had broken fairings, so the current owner has replaced that with the civilian spec fairings which unfortunately could not fit the instrument cluster (as seen in the image)

If I were to purchase the bike he has recommended that I put in the civilian spec instrument cluster in, but I was just wondering if it would be incompatible with this bike as it is the police version

Besides that the bike has other minor problems like a leaking left radiator and flat battery. Would there be any other thing I should look for or think about as well before I decide to buy this off of him?

    Thank you everyone!

Woha! I felt on a similar one... Broken fairings, little bit bent fork, electrical problems... Did not worth it, but i've learnt a lot on the process... First thing learnt is not to underestimate jobs to be done.
If i were you i would go for a better unit.

If you're not confident making your own assessment, I would recommend that you have someone qualified (e.g. a Honda mechanic or independent mechanic/shop having legitimate knowledge/experience with that model motorcycle) do a pre-purchase inspection for you...

    Hahhaha
Well yeah I like that logic
I almost wet myself when I turned the key and revved her up... The sound of those gear driven cams were just too good

Unfortunately in my country this model of VFR are hard to come by so I don't really have much choice if I want one of these
Just wanted to know mostly about the compatibility of the police model with the normal spec instrument cluster, if there are too many electrical gremlins to sort out
    Anyone have any idea?
