Tit for tat IMO, both can hold a decent value just depends on the condition of the bike, buyers market with a when and where.

Paint scheme on the 30 is more pleasant to my eye, but I'd rather spend that kinda coin on other toys.

People are willing to pay more than the RC30's 15K MSRP than they are for the
RC45's 27K MSRP... after all the RC30 is consider the original and best V4
homologated racer even though the RC45 is an improvement and produces more
    smiles per mile...

So you may see offers of 20K to 23K for the RC30 whereas 18K to 26K for the RC45

You lucky dog!!! I would love to have an RC-45. Perhaps someday, although I doubt it, as I'm constantly upgrading my 4th Gen, and my desire for a house and a C6 corvette when I get back to the states is stronger than an RC-45 right now. Can't really live in a motorcycle, although given the option, I just might try...

Great prices if you already own one but no so great if you're looking for one...
I think you'll find there are two types of RC45 buyers... exotic collectors and
    exotic riders...

Collectors will pay top dollar only if it's 100% bone stock and in presintine
condition... more than likely it will end up on display like #33 in the Barber
Museum that was once owned by Brian Drebber of Speed fame...

Exoctic riders will pay less than top dollar only because they wish to risk it all
out on the perverted highways... for them owning one of these two wheel
jewels goes beyond their high cost... which they will never regret spending...
it's the state of being part of a special fraternity of consummate riders...
heady in the rarefied air of a rolling show case of performance... giggling in
the helmet joy every time they twist the grip... proud with every passing of a
polishing cloth... Although brilliant... the RC45 homologated racer feels
completely out of place on the highway... subverting your sensibilities to the
point where you become a quick draw artist at pulling your thin as toilet
paper license out of your thick with appearance notices wallet... but it's
worth it... the memories will play like ripples of pleasure... in jail maybe...

I have a question for you RC-45 owners.....What kind of throttle does the RC have, 1/2 turn, or 1/4 turn throttle? I got to ride my friends MV Agusta the other week, and it comes with a 1/4 turn throttle, and I really likes that particular part of his bike. The seating was not so comfy, but the throttle response was incredible (granted this was due to more things besides the 1/4, but still quite nice). Thanks!!!

The RC45 comes with a standard 1/4 throttle but I prefer a modified Lockhart
Phillips 1/8 Quick throttle... I machined my own throttle barrel and removed
the throttle return spring... with this set up I'm able keep two fingers on the
brake and snap the wrist one time and gain WFO or Wide Fooking Open...

I must admit though it took some getting use to but now all other throttles
    feel slow in comparison...

    Home made aluminum throttle barrel...

Thanks for the response!!! How difficult was it to make the 1/8 turn throttle??? I'm definately interested in doing this to my 4th Gen.

    Larry:

Love how you got your RC45! I am really glad you ride the thing. Most people would not do such a thing and shame on them! A bike like that was not not meant to sit and be stared at, but ridden till it won't run no more LOL!

You're welcome... it's not difficult if you have access to a Lathe and a Mill...
other than that order a universal quick throttle from Lockhart Phillips p/n 123
    400 $79.95

Larry: The Bubba Zanetti from ST.n resides in Castlegar, BC, which is nowhere near Delaware.

And he rides a Sprint ST, not a VFR.

Unfortunately I do not have access to a lathe and a mill. How much would it take to persuade you to make a replica/clone of your tube??? That way I can order the part from the link you sent, and should hopefully be able to do the rest myself. If this is not possible, thanks for the info anyway!!! And any other info on making my own tube would be greatly appreciated, as SOMETIMES the machine shop on base will do special favors for ppl, but not very often, so I don't really consider it an option.

    Hiya Doug...
The machine work would be around $100.00 for a custom barrel but if you can
justify that amount then I suggest the ultimate quick throttle with aluminum
barrel and optional diameter wheels... for $189.00 it can't get any better than this...

So I could order this part instead of the LP part, and this should mount up with little difficulty??? It looks like a quality part with optional throttle cams, so we can tailor it to fit our needs. Thanks, I'll definately be looking into this!!!!
