    Hey Guys

There were tornados in Billy Carr's home town of Canton Texas last night . Is there anyone in that area that can give us a report of how Billy and his family weathered the storm ? He's a great guy and a huge asset to the VFR world so let's see if we can help if needed.

    Thanks,

    Shawn Knoche

Very horrible as I woke to reading about all this. Blizzards and road closures and torrential rain and tornadoes for plains this weekend. Unbelievable. Horrible so many people died.

I searched his name and came upon a thread that had this info in it...but from 2010. I sssume it's same guy...carb guru? So if it's him, maybe at least one piece of contact info may work.

Is he a member here? If so, does anyone know his handle? I agree about reaching out to see if he needs help. I've seen too much of this living in Kansas my whole life. Very sad.

Yikes - hope he's okay - weather channel says there's at least 4 dead and 40 injured.

    Quick Update:

I had e-mailed him and just heard from him.
He and his family is fine. They just got power turned back on.
    Others are attending funerals. :(

So sorry to see this on the news. The power in these storms is beyond comprehension. At least with a tropical cyclone we get a few days warning to prepare, these tornadoes seem to pop up very quickly when the conditions are right, which must make it much harder to prepare for them and protect lives and property.

They can grow from tiny ones to monster ones that are miles wide in a matter of minutes. Scariest weather I think since they drop out if nowhere.
