I'm sure they sell some bikes because of GP gods. My point is that even a lot of youngsters that are into sport bikes know that WSBK is real word obtainable bikes and not GP multi million unobtanium.

I'm a MM fan. I was while riding my Kawi, still was when on my VFR, and I still am now that I'm on the Triumph. But the RC213V isn't all that great in race form. The newish electronics package is somewhat responsible, but look how MM has to ride the thing just to make it competitive.

Then compare it to the Yamaha. JL, VR, and MV have all ridden it to victory multiple times even though it makes less power than the Honda or the Duc.

Gator, no one is debating the point you raised except you - are you going to tell me that F1 cars aren't obtainable either? :glee: I merely asked whether or not NCB felt inspired to want to get a VFR and he said no - in fact he said he wants to get another Ducati instead - so clearly he has now gone fully over to the dark side :witless:

I like that Ducati SS a lot too. I like a lot of their bikes. Rode a friends new Monster and it definitely tugged at the inner hooligan teenager in me. Price and maintenance intervals are kind of a pain with Ducs but I hear the valve adjustment interval on the new ones is a lot more miles now so that is good. A good friend has a 848 that is beyond sick. Mike (LDH on here) at Kyle racing helped him with all the parts to make it a track beast. I don't know how much he sunk into the full Ohlins suspension and brakes but it was a lot. I think he's selling it too..............

It is common knowledge that the bikes winning in WSBK share very little with the street going versions of those bikes.

But they are based on production bikes. Frame and motor. Lots of mods for sure to the motor, swing arm, brakes suspension etc. You know, the young squid puts on the slip on and Power Commander and he's Johnny Rea! lol

They are good looking bikes to be sure and perform well when not in the shop for maintenance - but I'm a Honda fanboy - if someone gave me a free Ducati I'd sell it and get a Honda :glee:

I was thinking more along the lines of C02 bubbles and the loss of one of those Ubolt/coffeecan/concrete anchors. Used to make those and sell em to guys fishing near the rocks and breakwaters on the SoCal coast.

Had I been smart I should have made up molds that looked like Harleys..:)

I think I read that in the Book of Revelations too. Good call there dude. Once again the Gator dude gets edumicated..

A little closer to reality could be to substitute "competing" for "winning".

I think the Yamaha definitely is an easier bike to ride than the Ducati and Honda bikes or so it would seem. Even the satellite riders and WSBK riders are doing well on it. Although Vinales was doing OK on the Suzuki, look how quickly he was on top when he boarded the Yamaha.

Conversely, look how poorly JL is doing on the Duc at the moment. So many years on the Yamaha probably was a huge shock to jump on the Duc. I do think that once he meshes with the bike he'll be doing much better but not sure he'll win a championship right away.

MM definitely is able to man handle the Honda but I'm sure it takes a lot more effort than the Yamaha. I just finished watching the MotoGP movie 'From Cevera to Tokyo' and they cover this topic as well as short comings that Honda had/has, not in detail but enough to get the gist that MM has to compensate a bit to win.

I thought for sure that Honda would fix there motor power issues this year but I guess that thing is a beast that loves to tear up tires.

The whole act is online. I read some of it. The best part was that if followed and enforced, great leader could be committed all nice and legal. A great idea IMO, before he gets us into a bigley shooting war then starts quoting Rodney Dangerfield.

Me I'm off to Wal*Mart to check out their new line of Trump bomb shelters complete with CD's of all his speeches and blow up dolls that when ya grab em by the crotch say, "thanks big daddy".

I read an article that implied that when all the manufacturer's had to run the same electronic package it set the Honda back over a decade in development. The electronic package they had developed was far superior to anything anyone else was using, and they are still struggling to match the "old" tech to a bike that was designed to run on cutting edge proprietary tech.

I'll try to find the article.
