Whats the vin #? Or at least that last couple digits to see if you got one of the first made. The lower the number the more it's worth. I'm just wondering. Too bad about the one I metioned. I knew some one would purase it sooner or later. It was or still is a real gem.

I heard at one time that only 50 RC45's were brought to the states for new resale in 1994. I guess $24,000 was alot to pay for a bike that could be outrun by a CBR 600F2 in stock form! I used to work for a Honda motorcycle shop in Fort Collins CO, and my boss was lucky enough to find one still in the crate!!! According to my Honda Motorcycle Identification guide the U.S. model VIN's started with
    JH2RC450*RM000006 to ? *=check digit

Ah, then you meaning the Fort Collins Shop, where the ones that also had a NR 750 on the show room floor too. But again, check with Larry aka, Busylittleshop. if I got the story right, he has serial # 0002 pretty interesting read too on how Larry found his Mr.45

I was told by a Honda representative that at least three bikes(it would be cool to see that warehouse!) of each model are kept by Honda so that research can be done on that model in the future if they have problems with the bike being sold(lawsuits, parts problems, recalls, etc.) I find it hard to believe that a private owner owns the #2 RC45(especially if the Honda Identification Guide lists the first VIN as being #6). When I worked at Interstate Honda in Ft Collins CO, my boss looked up fifty(000006to 000056) VIN numbers in the Honda computer to see who they were warranty registered to. I believe two of them were in Kurtis Roberts name. As for the NR 750, it was owned by the prior owner of the store who eventually traded the bike for a Lotus Espirit!(STUPID!!!!)

Larry's bike is a Canadian Model, and is definetly serial number 002. Not sure which (total) RC45 VIN number ranges were canadian and which were US, but Larry would know.

Here I am sitting on it:

Here's what I believe to be true...

Honda imported 56 RC45s to North America...

1 thru 5 went to Canada...

6 thru 56 came to the USA...

Freddie Spencer owns RC45 balls 6 and it's on display at his school in Los Vegas...

Out of the orginial North American 56 I've personally tracked 28 RC45s...
