How are the people, it's not good news by any stretch, three people have lost their lives in NSW, some still missing. In numerous towns from the cyclone impact and in many locations from North Queensland and south into Northern NSW, an area of several thousand kilometre path, homes and belongings flooded, washed away...

This is the city of Lismore in my region, just one of numerous areas with severe flooding.

It's awful. For those that haven't been through it they may not know all of the terrible things to come after the devistation of the flood.

I think the Ozzydudes ought to be calling the Moto GP races instead of those two screeching fags that are doing it now.

I see the floodwaters from the cyclone have now reached Rockhampton and as the waters rise they now have to deal with crocks that have come in from the rivers and are now swimming around the city. Now they are floodwaters you really need to stay out of

I recall after floods in Katherine, NT a very large saltwater crocodile was found in the toy store - not one of those fuzzy soft toy crocs!

One thing up there that is helping a bit with the saltie population that is out of control, is the cane toad, but that in itself is another huge problem, it is killing a lot of the native animals as well

The remains of a local road after recent floods. Glad I don't have to try to ride through that to get to bitumen.

This photo of the road washed away is from Qld, my previous post photo is from the Lismore NSW area. The dirt road to my property is full of washouts too and water still running out of the ground, but nothing like the damage in those photos. I might try to ride the VFR out of here on the weekend, if I remember I'll take a few pics.

Qld, beautiful one day catestrophic the next, more like it. Hehe. Yeah, NZ is going to experience serious flooding! She is one hell of a storm. Billions of dollars in damage throughout Qld and NSW.

Even Melb copped the tail end of the swirl over the weekend and we are about 4000ks away from where it hit worst

Check this fruit that came from your neighbor...are these grown in Australia too?

I need to Google it and see what it's about and how to slice and serve.
I'm trying these with students today. [IMG]

I read the info at this link, sounds nice, banana passion fruit flavoured!
    KIWANO https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cucumis_metuliferus

There is a fruit at looks similar that grows wild in my paddocks, not native to Au but a weed, said to be toxic to cattle so I pull the vines out. When I've cut these open it has a scent of cucumber, haven't tasted them.

Hi A.M, I did get out eventually. The roads were closed in many areas for quite some time even when they weren't still flooded or damaged, for emergency services to work uninterrupted by who they're referring to as "disaster tourists". When I did eventually did get out it was a priority to stock up on food, etc. with many of the supermarket selves empty, and a restocking not available for over a week because trucks couldn't get here. Then I did a good long ride around the region, I couldn't bring myself to take photos of the utterly massive devastation from flood damage and to people's lives and livelihood. Many businesses will not reopen after this flood. It was all too raw from my own natural disaster experiences of a few years ago.

    These little things were tasty!
Ran out of time yesterday to cut them open so we did it today.

The inside smelled like a mix of cucumber and pumpkin. Eating it was similar to pomegranate, but the fruit slid off the seeds of these much easier.

Super tasty and most of the kids enjoyed it!![IMG][IMG][IMG]
