3 way is MUCH better than 2 way IMHO for those keeping score.

Another one to add to the mix:

    Hyperpro.

Have it, love it, $850. with 3-way damping and adj. length.
It uses a progressive spring rather than straight rate. Perfect for adding weight or track days. BTW, the shock is made by Wilbers, the spring is unique to Hyperpro. THE smoothest ride I've ever had.

Was able to get my WP from LE Engineering, as noted mine too was set up with the correct spring weight, seemed it was right around $685. Great folks to work with, couldn't be more pleased. I also went that route due in part LOL to be a wee different, that and it was a tad less than the Penske. Over in Europe WPs are right in line with Ohlins, so figure whats to be hurt, Great shock, full 3 way, thou must say since I've had it set up, I've never touched it. I also have the Race Tech Fork springs with shim stacked F3 valving in place, so yea My baby rails. Next, to see if F4i forks fit, they measure up saying they will. then I'll have even better brakes too.

Yes they do and you can upgrade them for even better braking than the F4i clampers:

Nice, I knew I was on the right path, how's it look on the upper tree? as F4 forks are like 20mm shorter? I had it in mind to make one of clip on's that will make up the difference, that way the ride height can stay the same. not sure what happens other than initial thought tells me by letting her ride lower, quicken ups the steering with a loss of high speed stability.

Here's the good part: because the f4i has a steeper steering angle than the vfr(s), it's triples have more offset compared to the VFR. When mounted on the vfr, this slows the steering down at the standard VFR fork height so you will want to drop the triples (raise the forks) some to get back the quickness.

This "should" give you enough fork tube height above the top triple to mount clipons. I say "should" because I run a superbike handlebar and haven't tried it.

I went thru some simular gyrations - I considered Super Hawk forks and found them shorter - to make up the difference I used the stock 5th gen upper tubes that are a bit longer than the SH. A maybe is to use 6th gen uppers in F4i lowers (43mm) to make some length. I havent dug in to it - just an idea.

My focus was the brake delink - forks were kinda an after thought and along for the ride.

    Good luck,
    MD

Still waiting to hear back from him, he just got back from the AMA Formula Extreme series, he should get back to me in the next day or two, as far as the video, none of it came out very good when the camera was mounted to the bike, the only part that was salvageable was the part I down loaded yesterday on the Road Trip thread, all of my camera and video will be upgraded by spring where this never happens again...

I have the Penske and also took my bike to GMD Computrack and had the raceteck gold kit installed and had the forks revalved for my weight and riding style. I still feel the Olins is the better choice for people who are track rats - three way and the track guys are all familar with setting up the Olins. I could use some rain gear but I am saving my money for the stainless steel Galfer kit which will be my final mod before getting my bike re-painted.. Can't go wrong with the Penske.

Talked to him this morning and he said the price would be $670.00 plus about 20.00 shipping to get it to everybody's house, it would be a little cheaper if a couple more riders bought in, Just need everybody's riding weight, if any VFRworld member wants one of these shocks, I'll pay the upfront cost as long as I'm reimbursed, this is a one time offer.

2001-2002 GSXR1000 6 piston with matching m/c. Bolt right on with only a couple of mm's of shimming with washers to center them on the rotors.

Just ordered a set of ebc hh's for them last night as a matter of fact. I like the initial bite those offer over whatever came with these (I assume stock pads but don't know for sure).

    Hi!
Please tell me the spring rate do you have in your Öhlins rear shock and how much kg/lbs are you!
    Thanks!
My weight ~225 lbs in full gear. My handler can't tell me the proper spring rate in this case. Therefore I chose the S46HR1C1LS with 180 N/mm spring rate, because 170 N/mm is the dafault spring rate.
    Sorry for my english
