Understandable, given that both came out more than six years ago. Although Yamaha and Kawasaki haven't stopped selling sportbikes that came out 10 years ago for $7000!

When they drop the VFR, Honda's lineup will be pretty bare. The choice will be between a track-oriented 600/1000 or a overwhelmingly touring-oriented ST1300/Goldwing. Sounds like they are going out of business or something.

I've nosed around also and got the same hint that there is an 08 model being produced. As far as the gentleman picking up an 08 model, since he's in Turkey it wouldn't surprise me if it is. Us over here are always the last to know. and yes besides rumors on a sport version being made in the 800c class something must be in the works if Honda has claimed patent rights, question is when?

they may have done that just as a part of cleaning up their website, or to avoid confusion
I wouldn't read too much into it

    Wow.

The might be on to something here. If they make this bike & make it available in the US, f$ck getting a new truck, I'm buying this. IF & ONLY IF:
    1. It doesn't weigh more than a 5th Gen.
    2. It has at least the HP of the 5/6 Gen bikes.
    3. It's ergo's are similar to current VFR, meaning it's not an ass roasting torture rack.

If this 3 things come true, riding this thing would make me forget all about driving a POS Ford F-150. I wonder how much it would cost to get it repainted Pearl Yellow?

    KC-10 FE out...

judging by the thickness of the seat cushion, it would be uncomfortable "all around" my tailbone.

Seems like there's still under tail exhaust, vice the "patented" under frame.

The rear frame looks aluminum vice steel - no more hard and top case bags, so it would be a big step toward sport vs. tour.

The two part frame in the patent is not used here either it would seem.

I think this is a photochop job. Look at the VFR 1000 text on the curve stripe... it does not stay perfectly centered.

The french article says it "could" look like this, not this is the 2008 spy photo.

I think the rims are the best part of the mock-up, but will wait until next week for the real release - if there is still a VFR. I doubt the motorevue picture is a new Honda.

If you go on Speedtv the launch day for 08 looks like its in 2 days. They actually have a countdown clock that links to the Honda website with the teaser..... We'll see. I don't know if it will include the VFR but something big is happening.

Anybody seen this pic? Yeah, it is probably a fake, but it looks pretty cool. Fakeness aside, would anybody buy this (based on this one pic) if it actually was the new VFR? Tailsection looks kinda funky/big.

    Agree 100%. :thumb:

If this is just another mag mockup its the best I've seen and Honda should take note.

If true this will be the rumoured VFR1000RR version.
Apparently there is a VFR1000ST version on the way both in time for the 2007 Australian Moto GP.

( Disclaimer - at least there is according to the same rumour monger in OzVFR)

Very interesting thread here. The pics of the 2008 1000 VFR looks good. Too good to be true? Could Honda be making a secret press release? Hard saying what is true out there, however in the past, nexts year line up is usally released to the public mid to late September.

Another thing, did Honda decide to re-use designator "VFR" again? I beleive in 2002, they dropped the VFR designator and just stuck with Interceptor.

If the VFR 1000 is going to be a reality, it is hard saying what will be the same and what is been redesigned for 2008.

I think I could really care less about displacement if it didn't have factory hardbags. With my 06 I only really need my truck for track days and helping people move......

If it's another cruiser I'm gonna be pissed. Why would you launch the ultimate sport bike with a high desert back drop?

The CBR600Fi is still in the 2007 lineup of my country (north europe) but not in north america. It sells still good in europe. Remember europe did get a 1988 and 1989 VFR but not north america becorse the 700cc was the market there, but not in the rest of the world. it changed in 1990 and again north america got the VFR.
In europe the CBR1100XX blackbird is selling werry well becorse it has a lower price than the VFR, but is for simalar use. If something kills the VFR is its to costy to build and the higher cost make a bigger price and cousttomers buy a cheaper bike if its simalar enough better a honda.
Mayby there will be a 1000 vfr, we sure find out soon...

Wing for '08 has been out for about a month.
The theme screams cruiser. I'm not holding my breath.

Cool, for some reason the feeling I was geting was Goldwing related. If it's out, I'm actually relived!!! I was just thinking of the cruiser theme as well, but I was going in the Uber-Cruiser direction...we'll know soon enough what it is.
