Speedo only goes to 99,999 then turns back over to 0. So I think it likely does have 116k as advertised. Mine has flipped twice now.
The owner admitted to a fat thumb with the posting. I have records from purchase from original owner that it was bought at 15K last year and he only put 1K on it this year..unless he literally rode 100K in one year in NY lol I do hope to ROLL mine over a few times tho!!!
So I just picked up another VFR in the area. Another red 2002 VFR800 with ABS. Got it for 3100. Good condition with some oxidation on the pegs and such. Has lowered pegs 1in, bar risers, double bubble windshield, two brothers exhaust. Waaay better value than the other one I told you guys. So far I'm very satisfied with the purchase. Will register and get tags today.
I've got the 1990 750F, the 1999 800FI, and now the 2006 800Vtec (Non ABS). This is my very personal opinion: The 750F it's a legend but nos it's little obsolete, no Fuel Injection, parts are really difficult to find and it's quite out of date so let's her wher is it, a legend bike where all started. The 1999 FI, it's IMO the best of the best of the VFR series (Not considering the 1200s), it's more sporty than the 2002-2009, I loved the whine sound, engine it's bulletproof, less valve maintenance and the electrical problems were most focused in the R/R not so much in the Stator I think. Of course the parts are started to appear less frequent than 5 years ago for sale, specially the body fairings are difficult, but there still many of them in Ebay or CL even used or china aftermarket. My 2006 I have it since 6 mo ago, and let me tell you that it was more parked than riding, thanks to the stators. OK I'll accept my part, was my fault was to replace the fried stator with an aftermarket Rickys, but I really don't know why this bike is not convincing me like the 99 did. Also the V-TEC system looks that is completely non necessary, it's more a exhibition of hi-tech exercise than a rider's need. consumption it's the same, is LESS POWERFUL than the 99, and it's heavier. In the other hand this bike has better lights, more modern appearance, and there is parts everywhere, and of course no whine, for sure I think that the ABS version must make the difference. The rest is the same.. so my 99 was the best for me. I'm seriously considering to step-back if i found one with low mileage and well maintained. Don't follow me, just enjoy your rides!!
