still throwing some ideas around. Might go all the way to R3 on Thurs. Get up early and go N on 1. Meet up with TC, BW when they come down. I have to check with Reg to see if that's an option.

Count mein for R3, prolly one more in the guise of member Hammerdrill - his bike might be done by then - hehehe [I've been 'working' on it for months now].

I'm San Diego based and on my way north will connect w OOTV, Hammerdrill, and maybe that rowdy bunch that's making noises about being in Malibu climes.

Well, looks like Marrib jinxed me, my Grandma's birthday celebration will be on the same Saturday as R3! So as much as I would like to attend R3 this year, with all of the newbies and familiar faces that will be showing up, I will be attending the centennial celebration of my grandmother! I mean come on, how many people know anyone in their triple digits? Let alone be related to one. Hopefully her genes are strong in me and I'll get to live half as long...wait, I'm already half her age! Um, let's say 3/4 as long...:wink:

AM, I should be around when you ride through Southern California, maybe I can lead a ride through Malibu before you all head up the coast?

 

Well lets see... Believe it or not I'm still not 100% from the accident leaving R3 last year. I haven't been able to make an all day ride since. It took about 5 months to get the bike back in one piece and registered and have only used it for commuting in-between the massive storms we've had in the Bay Area. I'm sure the bike will make it, the question is if I can.

To make matters worse, work has me traveling a lot more this year. And it doesn't help I just had a trip to the ER last week... (That's another story for another time...) For now we'll say I'm 50/50 on making it. If I don't make the ride I might stop by for the raffle on Saturday so I don't break my streak of being at every R3.

As for the raffle the rules are loose and simple; just like Long...

1. Bring a gift to give away to a fellow participant with a value of not over $20. This has been bent a little sometimes but don't feel obligated to spend big bucks.
2. Try to keep it motorcycle related. Once again this is a gray area as Mary B really enjoyed that plug though it was much smaller than he was used to wearing. Alcohol is considered motorcycle related.
3. No fancy wrapping is necessary as most people by the time the drawing happens will not have their complete dexterity or coordination abilities.
4. The gifts will be collected after the Saturday ride and then given out after everyone has eaten. We pick numbers from the pimp hat so its fair and random

As much as I would like to see you there, I would be disappointed in seeing you there on the same day as this celebration so I am sure everyone will understand. I should be in the area a few days prior to the trip back north towards R3 so maybe we can do beer and burger sometime then.

 

Hope you continue to mend and may be able to ride with us for at least some of the ride. But do what the doc says, and don't do what he says not to.
