I have a 6th generation. Engine runs great. Wax unit works great but after engine warmed up and idle drops down to 1100rpm there is clicking noise from the left side of the rear engine. anyone familiar with this clicking noise? What's on the left that could be making this noise?

You should try to attach a sound clip for us to listen to. Is the r]frequency of the clicking consistent with the RPM of the engine? What happens when it is in gear or not.

Random clicking? Or clicking that is perfectly synchronized with (i.e. equal to) the engine RPM? OR... is the clicking occurring at 1/2 the indicated RPM (remember that the valve train items (camshafts, etc.) rotate at 1/2 of the crankshaft speed).

It's worth buying a "Mechanic's Stethoscope" from Harbor Freight (dirt cheap). Looks like a doctor's stethoscope but has a pointed metal probe at the end so you can touch it to various points on the engine to figure out where the actual location/source of the clicking is.

Does the noise go away when you squeeze the clutch lever?
