More than likely the problem is that somehow your English usage and comprehension is on the level of English as a second language. In future I will use really small words and short sentences.

Speaking of tripe, properly prepared it's really good. I use a recipe out of the "Art of French Cooking" by Julia Child. I know that haggis uses the whole stomach of a sheep. The original version before the Italians taught the Scots how to cook, the Scots just cooked the damn thing with whatever the sheep had for lunch that day.

I am hearing rumors that due to the unpopularity of Great Leaders golf course exploitations, he will be exporting a product similar to Top Ramen. This is purported to be instant haggis in a cup.

It might be that the OP after a year of riding withoot part of the seat fairing got a ticket or he burned his leg or buns on a R/R that crapped oot.

Either would be fine. Knocking another dude up is only theory or just plain weird. Sound like shit that harleydoods keep doing to each other.

You PM'd Ksoholm. Did you take his advice? Let us know. I'm an attorney here in NY and had a similar thing happen to my nearly new showroom condition 07 VFR800 RWB. Jackass "friend" knocked it and did over $2,000 in damage. He made some BS offer to "get it repainted" and find used parts I presented him with the estimates and said pay up, you'd expect the same from me. More BS followed so I sued him in small claims court. Got invited to be on Judge Judy after filing the claim - really they called me - :argue2: told them no, I preferred to have a real judge in a real court of record. Went to court and once the case was called he told the judge - "I'll pay". I asked for the payment that day and the judge told him, "Do it". Got my money, fixed the bike and never looked back nor have I spoke to him since. Anyone who would do that to you isn't a friend worth worrying about. Good luck and don't give up.

I agree with this. If you waited this long, though... I think just let it go. A judge is likely going to wonder why it's urgent now after all this time.

I believe you wimped out and let it go to long. Some states have a time constraint on suing for something like vehicle damage, like one year. It's hard to believe you've ridden around without fixing it. This guy isn't going to pay you and you're not going to sue him at this time. You can file paper work and all that stuff but getting him to court and to pay is doubtful.

Write it off, move on and enjoy life. Don't you have bike insurance? If you do then use it, that's way you pay for it. Let the insurance company go after him. Then again the time that has past is working against you the ins co may say you waited to long. Just tell the ins co the bike fell over don't tell them about the guy.

This is exactly the recommended course; I laid it out in detail, with links to local small claims, should be easy as pie. Hope he does it.

The statute of limitations for property damage is 3 years in Washington State.

That's nice. In BC I think it is only 2 unless you apply for a continuance. It is that way for injury claims I know from experience. Thanks for helping out our peeps.
