Ok so every winter I pull all the plastics off my bike to clean everything, do maint. and check the bike out.
I am waxing the front fairing and have always wondered what the small cavity under the black plastic plug is for ?
Its located directly below the headlight. ? Is there any reason for this ?
    Thanks for your input

IIRC, on some of the the European model VFR's (and some other countries) there is a position light that fits up through the bottom of the headlight and sits between the two defectors at the bottom. The black plastic cover is there to access that light and change the bulb. The North American models are not equipped with this particular light but the upper cowl is the same for all areas.

It is indeed a European marker light, that obviously isn't used in Murica. I remember asking this question many lifetimes ago in that other site...
